In the most literal sense possible, most absolutely do not understand the difference between a trans person and drag queens. They honestly and fully believe that trans people are perverts patrolling public bathrooms to rape women and children. Trans-men practically do not exist, nor do intersex, nor any other atypical physical, genetic, gender, or sex presentation.

It’s only slightly more useful than those service / status / outage reporting links that no matter how fucked the site is, seem to always indicate that everything is 100% fully functional at this time and has been for the past 28+ days.

I might have to consider it. On the one hand, I did get to a point in Hollow Knight where I just wasn’t enjoying it anymore so I never finished it. But at $20 for a brand new game, I’ll consider it. When I think of fixtures, I think of Cracker Barrel, too! Because I spent about 2.5 days staring at my bathroom fixtures expelling demonic essences from my bowels after contracting food born illness from a meal I ate there.

There’s pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich. That- that’s about it. Oh and cesium shrimp. But really, that’s basically it.

This is perfect for my new seafood diet. It is so simple, I cesium food, I eat ze yum food.

Living in the USA in 2025 is like that movie Cabin in the Woods. Basically every conceivable way for the country to end is happening simultaneously, all at once, and even then nobody bet on the radioactive shrimp, not even the maintenance crew. So now, I and other members of my family, pay a ridiculous amount of money for a rotating suite of services, trying to do things the right way, and still, there are way too many times when we can’t find anything we want to watch on any of those services and/or the thing we wanted to watch is not available on any of those services.

Finally broke down and just said fuck it. I tried to support this mess as best I could in hopes it would get better, but fully knowing it wouldn’t. When it definitely did not get better I said no more.

If you go the qbittorrent route, my piece of advice is to always check the settings after any updates.

It was maybe around 8 or 9 years ago, but after one of the updates, all my settings got wiped and set back to defaults I assume.

I didn’t notice until I ended up getting a nastygram from my ISP.

It’s never happened since, but needless to say I always double check now.

But, the reality of the situation is that professionals are usually balancing a myriad of concerns and considerations using objective and subjective evaluations of what’s required of us and quite often inefficiency, whether in the form of programmatic complexity or in the form of disk storage or otherwise, has a relatively low precedent compared to everything else we need to achieve if we want happy clients and a pay check.

I was dog sitting for a buddy of mine once, and ended up giving the dog a triple dose of its medication partially because of what I’d call less than ideal label design and instructions.

My buddy left instructions to give the dog 300 mg of its meds. So, I found the bottle with the correct name of the medication, it said 100 mg pills, so I gave the dog three pills.

The problem is, the label actually said something like "This medication is not to be given with

100 mg pills".

Because the bottle was super skinny, it meant that the top line wasn’t even fully visible without turning the bottle to read it, plus there was so much space between the top line and the bottom one that they otherwise looked unrelated. Strangely, the actual dose of 300 mg was not like in the picture above, it was in a tiny non-bold font and much less conspicuous than the larger bolder font used for the directions so I didn’t even notice it until I went back later and searched for it.

Granted, it didn’t help that I was not aware that this dog had 2 different prescriptions for two different strengths, which would have hopefully prompted more scrutiny on my part if I’d known because I probably wouldn’t have just assumed the first bottle I grabbed with the correct name on it was the right one to give her.

The good news is, the vet said that it wasn’t anything medically significant and that the dog would probably just be a little sleepier than normal for the next several hours. And she was, but otherwise perfectly okay.
