Pedo/predators given access to a new AI tool to allow them to make videos for children, what could go wrong? /s
Hi I’m Tim.
I’m AuDHD - officially diagnosed ADHD and self-diagnosed (for now) with ASD. I also suffer from a great deal of Imposter Syndrome.

This story is a rollercoaster of emotions for me. For one it makes me feel icky to agree with either of these vile sites, but I also think the UK should have some power over cesspools on the Internet. The problem is the whole concept was never built with the idea of needing to moderate people around the globe that may have conflicting laws/regulations. And typically jurisdiction would decide whose laws take precedent, but a site can be hosted anywhere around the world and reach everyone. And without a physical presence in the UK, I don’t think we have a great way to deal with things like this law.
A great example against the UK here is copyright law. If the US doesn’t like someone anywhere else downloading US works, they can’t just enforce US law by going and getting those individuals, they need to work with that country and either have some sort of agreement or go pound salt.
Which is wild when they are working on a new very ambitious game right now.
Edit - Light No Fire
A rolling release is probably better long term. Arch for example currently has Nvidia drivers as far back as for Fermi (GeForce 400/500) cards.
"Right now we’re releasing Windows 10, and because Windows 10 is the last version of Windows, we’re all still working on Windows 10.” That was the message from Microsoft employee Jerry Nixon, a developer evangelist speaking at the company’s Ignite conference…
Seems like Microsoft was destined to create another XP issue from the start of Windows 10 (2015).
It probably just asks Grok in the background using the full “you are MechHilter” prompt.
You could already do this for years through the “Files” app, just select the file/files and under the 3 dots “send to safe folder”. And it gets encrypted with a key on your device and if it corrupts or you try to open them on a new phone they wipe and are gone forever.
That title is very “right friendly”, with a not so subtle blame shift to the doctors.
Just finished BG3, now I’m debating retrying the last battle to see if I can get a diff ending, or starting a whole new run through. I’m also torn to maybe play one of the gazillion games in my backlog…maybe.
With all these domains they are continuing to seize and then need to continue to renew, at what point does a bean counter tell them it’s unsustainable? I also wonder how many sites just don’t get renewed because they slipped through the cracks like certs sometimes do. I guess if you’re a domain register this seems like a crazy inflated sales bubble that at some point is going to pop, and hopefully they have saved some of that revenue to ride out that lull.
Edit - a word
The wild part is how he goes on and on about how we (the US) are being screwed on trade deals, and you can go back and watch an announcement of him making that deal during his 1st term. He has spent more time reversing or just fake adjusting his own trade terms this whole time while blaming Biden who left most of it untouched so as not to tank the economy he was trying to bring back to life.
I hadn’t given this any thought previously, but reading your post now that I have kids playing through my library, and that I’m constantly adding games, this would be helpful.
So for self hosted I found this: Slaanesh
And for a letterboxd feel for games I found this: Backlogged
Have you tried any of the suggested working proton flags on protondb?
It is a bit of weighing the convenience of Steam dealing with your catalog of games, making them all just a download away, and keeping them outside of Steam and needing to come up with your own currarion method. And if you are buying (licensing it - because apparently nobody actually owns their games) the game outside one of these storefronts, you still have DRM to deal with most likely anyway.
Just have to weigh the pros vs cons.
As the only platform that cares about gamers I would say it’s your only choice under Windows also. Unless you pay for boxed versions and then rip/crack them so your not messing with physical media constantly, but then disk space becomes and issue fast.
“It obviously needs some tuning, but this is the radical left blowing a small thing out of proportion.”
Do remember this is the guy who did 2 full Nazi salutes at an event for his presidential candidate, and America voted Trump in anyway, they give zero fucks about “blatant”. And training his AI on Nazi material is going to make his bot pro-Nazi, not rocket-surgery.
Before and after. Like you said, the occurrence of one unfortunately doesn’t stop humans from carrying out another elsewhere.
I mean this was kinda the plan for Twitter, and for his AI all along. This isn’t a bug, it’s working as expected.
Nice, will need to try this out when I have a sec.
I feel like at least with American english people have taken a lot of liberties in how they spell a name and then want it pronounced.
And I first read it as Ra-sh, but also could see it as Ray-sh.
What did you do to “teach it”?
