Not sure what to say to that. Nobody in my group would consider classic email and IMs equivalent, unless you’re layering an extra UI layer on top like what the other commentor mentioned.

Oh sure, if you’re using something like that I can get behind it. But then you’re back to the network effect. Probably slightly mitigated since everybody has email, even if they’re not getting it in a pretty IM format and won’t be replying to it on the spot.

Also an entirely different thing, email is nothing alike to IMs.

There’s plenty of honor in Deepseek releasing open source.

Newer cooperative games mostly avoid the quarterbacking issue by having secret info, or just making it complicated enough that it’s impractical for 1 person to track everything.

The strategy is to avoid Monopoly. It’s not like the game gets any funner if you’re playing by the rules.

Regarding your question, it’s hard to say since you don’t mention any mechanics, or complexity level, that you prefer. Based on the couple of examples you provide, you seem to like cooperative card games. If so, you should check out ‘The Crew’. It’s the most popular of that genre in my game club.
