Will talk about Linux, plants, space, retro games, and anything else I find interesting.
Also mesamunefire@piefed.social over on Piefed.

Props to Peertube.wtf for federating the video!
Is there something like this but just with any website? Like just make it a one (pr two post) deal?
AI takes a LOT of $$ to work, so the companies behind it need to make money somehow.
And that $$ is in more data from users/new content.
Sometimes I wonder what is going to happen to all this tech in 4 or so years when its less profitable to keep the AI centers on.
Right now they are “free” because of all the investment that is going on. But they have a huge maintenance/energy cost.
Yep. I like next cloud much better.

Nomad is very good at what it does.
Piefed has an awesome dev. And the tech stack is very easy to read (in my opinion).
Yep! It works really well!
Plus the feeds can be used for threads not necessarily just on Lemmy/piefed/etc… but also mastodon/peertube,/pixelfed etc. Works closer to a big RSS except any interaction like upvotes/downvotes, comments and others. It’s very well thought out.

My local area was hit bad about a year later than everyone else. But once it hit, houses were close to 1/2 the price of what they were going a year earlier + unemployment was up to about 20%. It was VERY bad and I remember trying to get a job in the middle of it. I got lucky and got something around an hour away while quite a it of my social group moved away.
The job market is very hard right now. It feels like 2009 all over again. It took until 2014 to recover in my local area.
And there is a LOT of new devs getting pushed out. Crazy.
nice project!
It would be neat if they could get activityhub Integration. Then we can have Tumblr/digg pop up.
Excellent! If you have videos, feel free to post to !peertube@lemmy.world
You can also set filters in some clients. And other micro feed like software (piefed) can put filters for your user.
Or browse by new. Seems to work for me.
Discussion on HN is where I saw this for the first time. https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=43302132

Neocities is now a thing if anyone wants to check it out
If you want an easy way to host, yunohost can be a good place to start.
Yeah I had it crawl a site I knew was mostly unique. Left for a day and searched, nothing. I had to give it the entire url for it to pop up with anything…
Search is actually something that is kinda hard to get right. I just dont like having so many sites that are just small holes into google/microsoft/etc…search engines. I was hoping there was something out there that works.
What I would like is something that can take a look at blood pressure. Or heart health.
