I’m doing a Durge play through and already decided Scratch and Owlie get a pass.
I just did a run through with friends.
They entered the world with the intention of saving it.
I entered the world with the intention of murder, but children and animals were absolutely to be protected at all costs.
By the third act we fought almost the entire city to save the cat looking for its mom, because we had to keep the dudes that blow up from exploding it.
It’s honestly quite amazing we were allowed to walk through Baldurs Gate at all after all the death we caused trying to prevent it.
Like with Dame Alyn you can go the even more evil route of befriending them at first and giving them away in Act 3.
There is specific dialogue in the game for if you romanced Shadowheart, but gave her back to the cult and let her get her mind wiped. Apparently, this is a thing the devs thought people might do.
