Was doing an suicide difficulty egg destruction mission when two of the divers in the squad left. Me and the other guy switched to sneaking around the map, distracting the bugs with turrets, using the auto cannon to snipe bug holes from a distance, etc.
Used an artillery mini nuke on the last nest and got out of there.
Died trying to extract, but the mission was a success.
Thank you for your sacrifice. We are all expendable in the fight to defend democracy.
The situations where you and a random have half the squad call the mission a failure, only to pull out a ‘by the skin of your teeth’ success are such a rush omg.
I just started playing yesterday, but is that normal?
People keep leaving even after you spend 20 minutes collecting samples, killing bugs, and activating the TCS towers, just to miss the extract they could easily walk to.
So they get points, or face the court marshall they deserve?
Sometimes it is connection issues. My brother was having it happen randomly, sometimes right at the end of a mission.
Helldivers can very much be played as a stealth game. Fantastic advice.
Did you just drop some serious knowledge on us lowly bug slayers? Thank you kindly! I’m back to waiting for reinforcements…god I suck… space spacespacespace
Dropping your equipment right after you start can actually attract patrols.
The game apparently has a full detection system based on sound and vision.
Limiting how much noise you make can actually keep the heat off you very effectively, so you don’t have to fight your way across the map.
The extraction zone is usually a good place to enter as well, there usually aren’t many mobs too close to it when you first start so you can safely drop items in.
I haven’t played the last 2 difficulties though so idk how well that advice travels.
And smell, apparently.

A dev explained that in a video, it’s basically just a proximity check, some bugs will wise up to players no matter what, if they’re close enough.
God. The only good bug is a dead bug.
