That episode was very good, but had a similarly ludicrous hook, with the evil scientist wanting to rip the child from Data’s arms, which ultimately results in her death.

That’s too bad. Anything involving sentience and how we evaluate it is so fascinating and it absolutely could have been more interesting than that.
I don’t mind spoilers—but use spoiler tags if necessary—what do you mean?
Honestly, the validation means the world to me. The performances were all top notch and I get the idea they’re going for, but how they went there was so painful and contrived.
I think that’s a terrific argument and it is always wise to contextualize it in history.
We have absolutely been binging which certainly gives it a different feel, but I would argue even as a standalone episode it was poorly written if superbly performed.
There are ideas that could have been played with in a way that respects the setting. Perhaps another computer attempting to join Starfleet, but it looks like a box rather than a person and asks Data to argue its personhood.
I don’t know. I’m not a writer and I’m just spitting an idea off the top of my head, but I think there’s a place for internal consistency within a narrative regardless of when it was written.
Anyone have thoughts on this? I’ve only played a little, so most of this doesn’t mean too much to me yet.
I wasn’t double tapping intentionally! That’s the ticket. I was tapping around looking for a collapse trigger and must have occasionally tapped quickly enough to earn a double tap.
Very cool and thanks for making this.
Very neat. I haven’t used Reddit in a year, but I wanted to check out your app out of curiosity. I think I feel much healthier without it being a regular part of my life, but this is an interesting window I could glance through from time to time.
The comment collapse feature seems to work very inconsistently. Where should you be tapping or how in order to collapse a comment thread?
I’m pretty sure the always online drm was used to justify transactions in there first place due to the real money auction house.
While it can’t “know” its own confidence level, it can distinguish between general knowledge (12” in 1’) and specialized knowledge that requires supporting sources.
At one point, I had a chatGPT memory designed for it to automatically provide sources for specialized knowledge and it did a pretty good job.
I’m very encouraged to hear this.
They almost certainly will. That blue is a prestige feature for a lot of people.
I don’t really care, so long as I can easily send texts and pictures back and forth, I’ll be happy.
I, for one, am eager to ride the next civilization wave. They’ve only gotten better and better.
Playing Hades II makes me incredibly nostalgic for the first game, but I think I’m going to like the gameplay in the second so much more.
I wish there was a way to move seamlessly back and forth between the two for some reason.
That’s pretty neat? What a weird place to use a neature walk meme, but here we are.
Wait, a nameless hero will rise? Why would I want to play some no name character when I could be Guan Ping with a massive buster sword rampaging across a Chinese battlefield?
I’ve never played the game or even heard of this scene until reading that article and the sense he gives is so unsatisfying to me.
I think if you view it as a metaphor for divorce, it could make sense. Something the parents feel they have to do for their own health and well being that is nonetheless catastrophic for many children. Their children’s life as they know it, their sense of security, is carefully and methodically being ripped apart.
I could see that, but he didn’t really go there, it was just that the parents are so egoistic they just do whatever they believe is right.
I mean, sure, but it could be a powerful scene if framed properly, but it really sounds messed up.
Let me know what you think! I love qud and DF, but bounced off Eve pretty hard, so I think our tastes are at least somewhat similar.
Spicy take around these parts.
