I don’t overreact to things I can tell are regional dialects and whatnot. But I recently watched a movie review where the guy pronounced linear as “li-nEAR” and I was the personification of the double take white guy meme. Never heard that one before. And he kept using it throughout, so, somehow, this 30ish year old man has never been corrected. I think everyone that knows him might be playing a cruel joke.

Is there a gui interface for that anywhere? I really can’t be bothered to learn the command line just to download a couple vids here and there. Especially when freetube still works for now. But if the barrier to entry was a little lower, I’d start backing up faves.

Knights Within

Solo indie dev mashup of Risk of Rain, Helldivers, Vermintide, etc with its own soul and style of knights with guns. Dev is very active in the discord and takes feedback and actively plays with the small community the game has garnered.

I played the demo on a whim during a next fest expecting a janky joke of a game to laugh at but a decent and fun game caught me by surprise. It’s been improved and updated quite a bit since then.

Get Crime Boss: Rockay City instead. $20 full price with all the DLC included. Single player rougelite campaign mode. Multiplayer missions with RNG so they stay fresh. Hilarious mostly horrible voice acting by washed up celebs. Fantastic gun play. Just a great value really.

Played 3 hours last night with a buddy. No MOBA experience. We both had more fun than expected, even losing all our matches.

I already saw a community problem with people saying to forfeit within the first 10 mins and trying to abandon games. So I hope they keep the bot match options for when even the unranked queue gets shitty. Cuz it’s just a matter of time like all games.

The spore charger is pretty neat and the mega hive is proper intimidating and tough, with an egg you can carry to extract for extra samples (got 2 pinks and 4 rares with mine). They did what I feared they would do with the impaler and let it place and attack with its tendrils wherever it wants. So the game design language from the first game letting you know where it is to go take it out isn’t there. Just like charger butts not being their weak points. Baffling really.

used a buddy’s purifier last night and it took ~4-5 shots i think to bring one down. not sure it has many other redeeming qualities yet. I’ll have to unlock mine and play it more.

Yeah, that’s not how the military works at all. Maybe in business management, but not military. People seem to forget Starfleet is just that. The commander has a philosophy (that they will often draft a letter about when they assume command) and the unit adapts to it. People used to that are a little more understanding of Jellico and recognize that dread the enterprise crew had when they realized how good they had it under Picard.

Came to say golden souls as well. Just started recently and it’s impressive and fun as hell. There is also a 2 released and recently announced working on 3 I believe.

I don’t think who you play with will affect your enjoyment. I maintain HD1 as being one of my favorite coop games of all time with an overwhelmingly solid community. I think that largely carried over to 2, even with the boom. The biggest barrier to enjoyment is the game itself right now. But, being new, maybe the little things that irk people with hundreds of hours won’t impact you before they get fixed.

As a newbie, it will be a “don’t know what you’re missing” situation. As long as you’re in the lucky group not affected by performance issues and some of the more outrageous bugs, it should be a good time. But if you’re not in a hurry or facing a sale, I’d recommend waiting a bit longer to see if this upcoming patch addresses any of those tech problems.
