I have to charge the battery EVERY TIME! There is a wheel on the top I have to spin else it won’t do ANYTHING.
Infuriating

And my mustache!
Man o man, I love me some zomboid. Almost everyday, when I leave for work, about 5 minutes into my journey I get the zomboid heebie-jeebies :-).
Lemmy share the beginnings of our old Cookhouse:
And I only fell 3 times while making the roof!
Ouch, my hip.
Bought a Pocophone F1 when that had insane value per dollar. Had to “wait” for a cooldown period to unlock the bootloader. I had never bought phones made for a Chinese market before. I have never felt more disrespected by a phone company, forcing me to use their launcher for 2 weeks, so condescending. I am a functioning human adult, thank you very much, I’ll chose my own software. Never interested in made for Chinese market phones again.
The always sunny explanation is better then most. Art is in the eye of the beholder. I think almost everything can be/is art, if you tried to create beauty or evoke emotion with design, it is art. No one can really call themselves an artist without sounding… Almost pompous? We are all artists.
Oof, that sounds like it’ll be an intense climb back in to reality!
I daydream of Zomboid every week :) I just want to get out there and SURVIVE, man!
Maybe combine the loot fest with some hades difficult combat? I have similar feelings as yours, the genre is really cool but in the end, it’s all just this hidden grindfest? At least with (real) brutal combat, you still need to “make it happen”, big numbers is just the req.
With shorts specifically, on my old now non existant account, which had a scary good profile of me, I got washed with right wing bullshit and transphobia when it shoehorned shorts in my life. It knew very very well who I was and that I would not enjoy any of that. I notified YT through don’t show me this again buttons, and when it wouldn’t stop I informed them they had 7 days to get this out of my recommendations or I would close my activity at their website. They did not react, they did not make shorts an option, they did not get the right wing garbage out of the 3 shorts they managed to throw in my face somehow every day when using YouTube. This account was over 10yo. Seeing how good their normal recommendations were, I can only conclude it was broken or bought for shorts, and thus you should be extremely reticent/reluctant blaming it on the users when they get wierd stuff.
My goal is to inform you that your N=1 is unrepresentative, I came in to say: “shorts algorithm suggestions were completely out of wack to my YouTube account(too!)” so now we have at least n=3, and if we can trust each other to say the truth, your ‘its a you problem’ is false. That’s important, because you accused someone of having certain interests, based on their experiences with that algorithm. I think that’s pulling the gun and putting too much ‘trust’ in a commercial YT algorithm, that worked for some (you I guess) but not for all.
I thought it was one of the most intense city builders I ever played. I love the genre, and I love this style. Pretty difficult as well.
So what you’re saying is you trust YouTube to do it right? With shorts? I got bombarded with bullshit in shorts, the 50 times they got it in front of my eyes somehow, I never watched any of that in my normal yt rounds. That algorithm is made to brainwash, not to serve you what you want.
It’s great, I drive a low compact and because all the boomers around me drive a small tractor/SUV, whenever dusk starts I can look at all the pretty hard white suns behind me instead of traffic. If a big cargo truck can have good unobtrusive lighting, your fucking boomer mobile should also be able to have it, so it’s basically a choice made in the factory: yeah this will fucking blind everyone on the road, but think of how COOL it will look guys!!
It’s because this guy https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prabhakar_Raghavan thinks that keeping people engaged on google search longer is what it is all about. Not finding what you search for, no, engagement with your search tool.
"He was the head of search for Yahoo from 2005 through 2012 — a tumultuous period that cemented its terminal decline, and effectively saw the company bow out of the search market altogether. His responsibilities? Research and development for Yahoo’s search and ads products.
When Raghavan joined the company, Yahoo held a 30.4 percent market share — not far from Google’s 36.9%, and miles ahead of the 15.7% of MSN Search. By May 2012, Yahoo was down to just 13.4 percent and had shrunk for the previous nine consecutive months, and was being beaten even by the newly-released Bing. That same year, Yahoo had the largest layoffs in its corporate history, shedding nearly 2,000 employees — or 14% of its overall workforce. " - https://www.wheresyoured.at/the-men-who-killed-google/
That’s far enough along to know for sure it’s not gripping you :)
