Another step in the slow death of the open WWW… Are we all gonna retreat to smaller, more controlled environments?
URL-specific and they go to the registrar? What can they do, they don’t manage the hosting
Just like @BearOfaTime@lemm.ee suggested, Syncthing-fork works fine for now, I’ve been using it on my phone to sync logseq notes and I haven’t had any issues so far
If you’re selfhosting stuff, you easily host Home Assistant, install the app on the phone, and use the battery sensor from the app to turn on and off a smart plug.
I use the Kodi app on my smart tv to watch movies and shows shared from my server via SMB, never had any problems, aside from green tint on some HDR encodings. My TV’s wired tho.
Gamers are used to fiddling, so that shouldn’t be a big deal for now
I think I can see 3 “new” laptops in my future!
And back when we had community hosted servers, evading a ban was so simple, change server or restart your dial-up connection to get a new IP and change nickname, yet it was incentive enough to behave, because people recognized you just through your text (voice chat was usually limited to clan games)
TYRANNY! It’s an RPG from Obsidian that shares the Pillars of Eternity engine, very cool premise and story, main campaign is short so it shouldn’t keep you occupied long, unless you decide to replay of course, the storyline changes A LOT depending on your actions (and even upon choices you make before even playing), so replayability is very high.
So you don’t actually explore map, but lore.
You can start out without zigbee or z-wave devices, just wifi, in order to get your feet wet… after some experience you can decide how you want to go forward. If you check HA’s integrations page you linked, be aware of each integration’s IoT class, Local Push and Local Polling means you don’t have to go through the internet to interact with those devices, it’s more reliable and likely faster.
I’d try some smart plugs as well, they can be quite versatile.
Personally I’m a big fan of Shelly devices when it comes to wifi stuff
Eating out every day is already unhealthy, if you limit yourself to take away places you’re really asking for trouble
I once spent a week on a project with a colleague who’s, let’s say, kinda intense… You know smart guy and hard worker, but he always wanted to have the last word, whenever you explained something he never really believed you until he tried himself… Whatever, his work was ok, but as a person he was really exhausting. He left the customer’s before I did, the first evening I was alone I was so people-tired that I didn’t even go to the restaurant (it was in the hotel!), I stopped for groceries at a supermarket and ate in my room!
“Hey, mind if I sit here?”
“Yes.”
“Wow, rude.”
As a former travelling worker, I ate a significant portion of my meals alone at a restaurant, never thought it could be perceived as weird before these memes started floating around reddit
Yeah, got it for free on epic, assumed it was a game on dictatorship for reason… What a trip it turned out to be
Pshh, UE5 when the FreeDoom engine exists
Don’t underestimate the importance of playing snowballs
The first one was absolutely a game. Definitely need a discount to pick up the second one.
