I always considered it a novelty of the 2000s. It was the game I used to break in my first gaming PC, and it wasnt’ even that good of a PC to run it in the first place.

Transport fever isnt a city builder though. unless somethings changed…

its like transport tycoon / OpenTTD. you build logistics networks for goods services and passengers/commuters. and the cities grow as you help the local economy.

Unless today is summer vacation, or some other holiday somewhere, or a mountain of European and Asian players are playing . I dont think its happening.

seeing as EVGA quit a while ago and I cant tell you who the reliable partners are for Nvida cards anymore, Nvidia is soley an AI / Investment company now. Very little of what they do is intended for individual consumers building their personal computers.

at this point I have nothing but a feeling schadenfruede for Star citizen players.

I literally knew someone who spent like $30,000 USD on Star Citizen, Had almost all of the ships, and social engineered his way to a leadership position of an admittedly very small and inactive clan, he had all the ships, and only enough people in his clan to crew like 3 or 4 of them.

and because of his addiction, couldnt afford a place to live on his own so he had to share an apartment with like 5 roomates.

Do you care about your time being wasted after you get 20 minutes into a mission, and someone crashes your game by calling 13 Orbital gatling barrages at once?

Ive had so much time wasted by sessions getting crashed, I shoot these players on sight and leave the game now.

or kick them if Im host.

On the other hand, after they got back together and started making a game again, they did retract the open season ruling on parts of the IP of the game. (they went after Stalcraft and made them change the names of a bunch of the groups since they were 1:1 copying Duty, Freedom, Monolith etc)

however I doubt they will ever do anything with Xray, in terms of enforcing IP . its so old and they’re an Unreal studio now, for better or worse.

A friend of mine is a video game developer, works for a Microsoft studio, has somehow survived like 3 or 4 layoffs and closures the last 5 years.
