  • Mullvad has a lot of perks. Like I mentioned, no deals for buying yearly. Get it month by month for the same price. No account connections. You get an ID number and that’s it. That ID is your password and username. Pay with nearly anything. Crypto, card, money services, even mail in physical cash.

There’s a lot to love about it, and it hands down has some of the fastest tunnels I’ve used. Nord was always half my internet speed no matter what I connected to. You don’t even need Google Play if you want to use it on android. It’s open source, so grab it right on F-Droid. Easily supports any OS. If you don’t want a GUI, there’s a CLI alternative, too.

  • Yeah, but for every dictator there’s countless intelligent revolutionaries. Especially when it comes to the internet.

They’re really shooting themselves in the foot trying to deny us/force overcharge the very thing they use to make us complacent in the first place: media.

If they were smart they’d ignore this bill. It would just bring attention to their attempt to essentially seize the internet and for what? For us just to get around it again anyway?

Not to mention if they enforce US VPNs to conform it’ll just result in more currency leaving the country. No wonder this fucking floundering economy is all our fault.

Governing is like holding a marble to the table with your thumb. The more you press down, the more likely that marble is to shoot out and break your shit.

  • Builds. Build builds builds. Whether its slowly tailoring your class to a build, or roguelike unlocking items and abilities to build around each run. It’s why I like things such as Diablo, PoE, Last Epoch, Binding of Isaac, Tales of Maj’Eyal, Neverwinter Nights, Baldur’s Gate, etc.

Its also why I was severely disappointed with ArcheAge. And unhappy when I returned to GW2 to find my world bossing combat medic off-meta bleed Warrior pretty much useless. Used to tank boss AoEs to revive downed people using healing shouts and increased revival speed. They nerfed and removed the revival speed node from Warrior and the build lost half it’s function.

  • I’ve been down this rabbit hole and here’s the haul from Wonderland:

    Conventional:

    • Heliboard - Has glide typing, but the available library is unstable and old. The most polished.

    • Florisboard - Currently under heavy development, but what’s there is more than usable and very well done.

    • Unexpected Keyboard - I actually love this one, but as a Fold user I need some auto correct. Uses swipe motions on each key for symbols and punctuation.

    Unconventional:

    • Thumbkey - A 3x3 grid using taps and swipes to type. I flip flop between this and Heliboard atm. Has circular motions to input caps or numbers. MASSIVE amount of layouts, including language, programmer, writer and more. Easy layout switch key on the fly.

    • Flickboard - Same setup as Thumbkey. This would be my go to ever since they added a landscape layout that smart switches on inner Fold screen, but there’s no separate key height for it, so you have to deal with non-uniform on one screen which isn’t easy to type on. Also has circular motion for caps. No numeric, but there’s the option of having a small number column.

    • 8vim - The only one of it’s kind since 8pen died. I’m learning this one and it’s great, but wonky on inner Fold screen. Its hard to explain, but you use circular motions around on X wheel to input whole words at a time letter by letter. Start center, drag out into a quadrant, rotate to get your letter, go back to center, without lifting go to your next quadrant for the next letter. When you’re done and back on center, let go to insert space, or you can move out into a quadrant then lift to end without a space. Takes a lot of getting used to.

  • I’ve always had a pretty shitty stomach (haha), but it really drove home just a couple weeks back. I’m not bad at getting fiber, but I don’t go out of my way to chase it. I recently started Kratom at nighttimes for anxiety and RLS, and have been enjoying it. Kratom solidifies bowel matter and causes constipation.

I took it for a few months (8 grams a day; 4 in the morning 4 in the evening) and I didn’t really bother to make sure I had fiber, water, and maybe a small bit of laxative with my dosage. As of a couple weeks ago, I no longer have an appendix.

So. Fiber good. Much fiber. I eat shredded wheat every morning now and try to take in some leafy greens with my suppers/lunches as well as trying to limit my overall dairy intake. There’s also diverticulitis on my dad’s side and diabetes on my mom’s. I’m 35. It’s time to be extremely careful with my diet and now I only take sugar in the mornings with my coffee/tea and it’s half of what I used to put in it.

    Stay healthy out there, folks.

  • I get you. I really do. It hurts a lot that Star Wars has become what it is today and the joke started at Phantom Menace.

I suppose what I’m getting at is that Star Wars is a cluster fuck no matter which way you slice it but at least EU occasionally made it a fun cluster fuck.

I’m not saying that Disney should have followed every canon that that walking fop of chest hair Lucas let through. They should have just left it alone and never mentioned it. Don’t think I’m a Lucas fan. I hate him. Countless authors just dropped trow and shit on his desk and he made it canon.

I mean, Lucas told RA Salvatore, one of my favorite authors, that he had to kill off Chewbacca after he took the contract. So Salvatore, insulted, killed Chewie in the most heroic but ridiculous way he could think of and ran him over with a goddamn moon. From then on Lucas banned Chewbacca from any future New Jedi Order series and we got Lumpawarump.

So whereas the EU was indeed mindless insanity, it was our mindless insanity. Most EU fans like me who are aware of the shitshow it was accepted that it wasn’t perfect and cherry picked our own headcanon from the books. Disney essentially ripped that from us and forced this inconsistent, uninteresting slop down our throats.

They lost a chunk of fanbase decanonizing it, receiving ridicule en masse, when they could have just ignored it and put out their own events anyway. I’m not just one of those “couple of stories” guys, but I will concede that I am one of those “couple of stories I actually really enjoyed” guys.

  • I’m on the Trek side with this one. Tossing aside the EU was an absolutely insulting move by Disney. They could have had a field day with Corran Horn. His story covered everything from deep sci fi hunting down the Imperial Remnant in rag tag space skirmishes to high fantasy wielding a lightsaber made from a swoop bike handle that changed length when you twisted the throttle.

Instead they put out mindless drivel that holds consistency about as well as a sieve holds diarrhea. Sometimes there’s a nugget, but most shit just runs through.

As a Star Wars fan I’ve always considered Star Trek very classy with intelligent nuances and a solid backbone. I just never could get into it. Probably my penchant for high fantasy. My uncle and grandfather are proud trekkies, though.

The whole Star Wars vs. Star Trek thing is just apples and oranges anyway. Each also has it’s fair share of “that one fan” we all dread, as displayed by Stephanie here.
