I don’t know about “better”. It looks different.
But then again, I think the original looks fine and that there’s no need for a remake. It’s just a way to milk suckers for more cash.
“Look at the shiny! Don’t you want the shiny?”

“Look at the shiny! Don’t you want the shiny?”
A quick look at TPB’s top 100 games tells me that was a lie.
I don’t know.
But once ya’ll figure out where you stand, just know that Saber Int. has their fingers in quite a few upcoming titles.
No, it doesn’t. It contains a Support Weapon and it’s just the flamethrower, but green.
You’re not missing out on anything other than the gas grenades and skins.
And the grenades can’t open loot containers or close bug holes/fabricators. They are tiny versions of the Gas Strike orbital, but without the explotion.
Welp, as it turns out, it was just another Warbond. Not a Stratagem that cost Super Credits.
So same old, same old…
Welp, as a tie-over I can recommend plowing through some of the stuff on Gamejolt.
There’s a few pretty good indie spookies for free. They aren’t too long, but have some pretty good concepts if nothing else.
But yeah, one tends to get a bit numb on horror after a while. It helps to take a break every now and then.
But what type of spooky are you looking for?
Soma is definitely up there. It’s slowburn and not jumpscares. But when that shit hit, it hit hard.
Add into it that a game can offer much of the same as a movie and given that it’s an interactive experience, you’re not just cheering on the hero, you are the hero.
And the social experience was risky before, but with smartphones being so prevalent, it has skewed the chances heavily towards a negative experience.
As I said, the article is very poorly written. I’m unsure if they mean that there’s a Strat’ coming that’ll cost “SC” or if they are referring to the Warbond. Because Warbonds have always cost 1000SC. Zero change.
And no, it’s only your responsibility whether or not you engage with a specific game. There’s tons of great games out there, not every single one has to cater to your specific needs.
As the game is, it’s not a necessary addition by any means. So no, it isn’t a big deal.
Though I don’t know the price of it, I know it doesn’t take too long to play your way to enough “Super Credits” to pay for the Warbonds. I can’t imagine it’s so much more expensive than that.
Also, people may not like to hear it, but only they have a responsability in what hobbies they themselves choose. If you don’t have the time to play a grindy live-service game, then don’t buy it. Yes, that choice lies with you and you alone.
Neither the Developers or anyone else, has any responsability as to how you choose to spend you time.
There’s a million cool hobbies out there, find one that fits your schedule.
Edit: The entire article reads as if it was written by someone that hasn’t played the game. They use the words “Warbond” and “Stratagem” interchangeably. And write as if the Warbonds didn’t cost ‘Super Credits’ before. You’ve never been able to pay for a warbond with anything else.
As if that has changed anything about Activision.
The list is longer. But it’s among the reasons.
Don’t feel bad for them. Firewalk Studios may only have Concord to it’s name, but the Devs are all from Bungie and Activision. That should already ring some alarm bells.
They knew exactly what they were doing. They are the ones that sold the idea of Concord to Sony. For once I doubt Sony had to push for any of the bad decisions.
They didn’t waste $100 mill+ and 8 years development time on a random passion project. This was designed for a single reason, to make money in ridiculous amounts. To squeeze every penny out of kids and their parents.
I can’t feel bad for anyone that worked on something like that when it fails.
Only to be played for business purposes!
I think they did. As people keep saying the gameplay was fun. It’s everything else that doesn’t work.
No no, I just see “Underrated” used a lot about things that really aren’t underrated. It’s become a bit of a pet peeve for me. (Like when someone calls REM an underrated band. Like, they are world renowned. They’re just old and broken up.)
And I’m also pointing out a likely reason for them not being talked about as much as other titles in the same genre. Aside from going through the game with different roles, the first game just doesn’t have a lot of replay value. Not a lot of ‘Choice & Consequence’ or things to discover. There’s your Char and what God you choose to side with in the end. That’s kinda it.
Good games, but not exactly riveting.
So they aren’t underrated. Just low replayability value.
And if Avowed is part of the series, I’d say the IP’s doing fine. Three installments is pretty good.
Pillars of Eternity? Are they considered underrated?
The first one did pretty well as far as I remember.
My only personal complaint was that the game was too lineary.
Yeeees…
