I discovered my best option is Arch Linux, though setup was not easy. Projects like Steam Handheld Integration Project are probably the best option for someone if they ask for a feature and you are unable or unwilling to provide it, I understand you’re not obligated to code anything and just want to say that if a feature is outside of scope, recommendations for other distros is the best approach to deal with Linux newbies like me.

Also, to anyone asking, yes Arch was a pain. It’s a small miracle I got it working. It is, however, a good option for Windows 11 handhelds like the OneXFly if you understand command lines (CLIs) like my brother.

As a privacy-valuing PC gamer, I’m afraid that’s a bad idea. As great as GOG’s way of doing things is/was, I need to transition away from Windows more than I need to transition away from Steam. I’m sorry, but as of 2025 Steam is less evil than Microsoft.

Well, it’s exactly that in technical terms, yes. Somehow, “complementary games included (subject to limited-time redeemability on a monthly basis) each month you subscribe” is not as marketable from Amazon as from Humble Bundle. I don’t know what AI these assholes are using but I only trust perplexity to research for me, I still check the answers and at least glance at sources.

If you’re a parent, the number one thing your child needs to have is knowing how to question things and think for themselves.

Beyond that, point them to a research AI such as - but obviously not exclusive to - Perplexity. The AI you choose needs to be able to fact-check things well. So far I only know of Perplexity but I’m not some spokesperson so I welcome other suggestions.

If you can get the former, they’ll live. If they get both, they’ll succeed. If they only get the latter, they’re doomed. AI will not fix this, only enhance the solution.

The Go S is basically the OneXPlayer F1 (a.k.a the “OneXFly”). I’ve also noticed that sales of the F1 series had occured frequently and they no longer seem to promote it now that the F1 Pro is out for a while. I can only guess the two companies are having a de facto handoff, trading the market share by swapping the roles of their primary devices.
