I configure my editor to use 3 space characters per tab. I’ve worked with people who prefer tabs represented as 2 or 8 or just about any number. But I can look at the same code as them worth my preferred look.

Also works best for line length restrictions. A tab is a single character and always is.

For anyone like this to be a good thing there needs to be a system of checks and balances. There should be an appeal process that is low effort and low or zero cost. There should also be a verification process by a third party before anything can be added.

I don’t remember much about my OS courses from 20 years back, but I do recall something about walls between user space and kernel space. The fact that an update from the Internet could enter kernel space is insane to me.

I meant that the crew would not count as passengers. I know nothing about fuel usage, but let’s say a trip is going to use 200lbs of fuel. 1 passenger would give a ratio of 200:1, add 6 crew, the ratio is still 200:1. The only way to have lower tax is to have more passengers on the flight.

There should be a tax based on how many gallons of fuel per person on the flight. The tax should grow experimentally related to that ratio. Crew and staff should be excluded. Sorry it’s going to be 90,000$ for you to take off today. Maybe even double the tax every time you have to pay the tax on a single month. 90,000 this week, 180,000 next. Resets every month or maybe every quarter.

Eventually an airline for the super wealthy would form. Cheaper than owning your own jet but afford some level of privacy and exclusivity by doing group bookings to lower or eliminate the tax.

I think this is also an archaic model from before smart phones and the early days of smart phones. In the early days of apps, most attempted to limit data usage because most network providers charged a premium for data and the networks were much slower and smaller.

While you could tether in these early days, even before smart phones, the computer was capable of much higher data usage than the phone. These limits were put in place to protect a network that wasn’t really built for this level of load.

Old rules with good purpose turned into a way to charge more money.

Fine these mother fuckers! We need legislation to limit income disparity between insiders and grunts. It needs to work on total compensation and include contract workers. I’m always using assistant to play music in the car or on home speakers. Gemini isn’t able to do this. I also discovered I can’t use the Gemini app without allowing it to replace the assistant.

I will say I have had similar problems getting assistant to identify songs. It used to work pretty seamlessly.

Against all privacy recommendations I do allow my phone to id music at all times. Nice thing is I have a shortcut to history, it doesn’t always work, bit does most of the time.

Gemini doesn’t work like Google assistant.

I don’t know about other things like seeing timers or running routines, I shut off Gemini as soon as I realized it couldn’t handle my most used requests.
