I was semi recently explaining to someone that monitors are basically small TV’s, with more variety in sizes, form factors, and refresh rates.

Bro just use your phone. If it’s android, use AIReader. Free, incredibly configurable, can read every type of book file. Dark mode, adjustable brightness for reading before bed. It gets so dark that I can’t even read the minimum setting in a pitch black room. Best e-reader app I’ve ever found and I’ve been using it for probably 10 years now.
I knew GPUs had gotten bigger but then I built an all new PC, upgrading from a 2080 to a 4090.
Holy shit. That thing is fucking huge, man. I was literally stunned pulling it out of the box. Just set it down and stared at it for awhile trying to process technological progress. It’s like 8 times the size of the GPU I had in 2006.
I like lifting, I genuinely hate core Day. Something about it convinces my body I’m dying and all I want to do is vomit.
The federalist papers very much show they were aware of that threat.
I don’t know that I’d call them idealistic. They were landed nobles who didn’t want to pay the increased taxes levied on them. Which in turn were to pay for the war their government had fought on their behalf to protect them from the native people whose land they had stolen. By exterminating those native people.
Some asshole had the idea to water a seed and now I have to pay taxes. Fuck that guy.
24hr clock supremacy
This is how you get people to start rooting their TVs
My parents live in butt fuck nowhere and are in a fiber co-op paying like $70/month for unlimited 1gbps up/down.
Meanwhile I live in the (extremely left) Capitol City of my state and pay Comcast $165/month for like 175mbps capped at 1TB, with some absurd overage fee like $10/5GB over until I hit $100 over and then it’s “unlimited” but seems throttled.
Any tips for eliminating the stutter, or increasing the smoothness of the emulation? I’ve got an i7-12700k, 4090, and 64GB of ram and it seems to struggle a bit.
They cancel shows that aren’t binge watched in the first eight weeks because of payment agreements made with the production companies. They have to pay royalties for all views that occur outside of that defined period. Which is still profitable, it’s just less so.
But they’re not interested in making good, watchable content. They’re only interested in profit, and producing a show which is watched immediately is what maximizes that profit.
Give it time, forced advertising is inevitable.
Slowly making progress in Dave the Diver, which is quite entertaining. Also working on Warhammer 40k: Rogue Trader.
Also collaboratively playing The Sims 4 with my wife, and I’d forgotten how fun that could be.
Just give me my porn, you fucks
When I was a child I envisioned fully automated luxury communism driven by robots and AI.
Realizing that wouldn’t happen for the dumbest possible reasons as a teen/young adult was immeasurably disappointing
As we get closer to Microsoft forcefully shoving windows 11 down our throats, more and more I consider switching to Linux as my daily driver for home.
