I’ve been making a huge dent in my library since last year. I’ve fully completed over half of my 200+ library. I shouldn’t, but will probably get some new games to add to the decreasing backlog so that I can have more backlog to play! :P

Games@lemmy.world•Nexus Mods' new owners promise they won't monetise the site to death as users panic at the whiff of venture capitalEnglish
18·11 months agoThis is tragic. I have been on NexusMods since the 2000s. I learned how to mod games because of that site. I will be pouring one out for this landmark of a website after work today. Paid for Lifetime and everything, because the website made it easy to find, install, and update mods for any given game that supported mods. Damn, man. Damn.
That’s great, and I’m genuinely glad you enjoy that experience! I do not though, and as I said, I have maybe 1 hour or 2 to play my games after work. I do not have the time for it myself, but definitely understand how others enjoy the extra challenge.
Options are always good for everyone. :)
Oh, dang! See, I forgot about that. That happens near the end when the big bad is coming, right?
Yeah, I still enjoyed Fable 3 for what it was, but they definitely dropped the ball on so so many things that made me love Fable 2 the most out of the franchise.
That hand holding crap was a semi neat idea, but they overused it for quite a lot of things that didn’t necessitate that mechanic. Helping the little girl out of the cave was a good use for it, and leading your love interest in the beginning, and then helping your right hand man (I forget his name at the moment) when he was blind. Other than that, why? :P
Same here. It’s a videogame, I don’t want to have to do inventory management if I am trying to play in my limited time frame, I just want to play the game!
Are you excited for the new Fable reboot? I’m wary of how companies are now, and the fact that Playground games is making it (they’ve only made extremely good racing games) so there is some hope!

Games@lemmy.world•Cyberpunk 2 is now in preproduction, CD Projekt saysEnglish
3·1 year agoYeah, I had it on PC and while there were plenty of bugs, I still beat it before patch 1.06 or whatever came out. Still had quite a lot of fun!
Now, the console releases on the other hand… yikes man. Yikes…
I use StartAllBack (I guess it’s the same developer?) and love how it made File Explorer more robust again. :)
As someone who has been on Linux (openSUSE Tumbleweed) for almost 6-7 months now, I still don’t understand how to get some of my programs running in Wine. I tried Bottles, and that’s a little better, but it still leaves MUCH to be desired. I have two SSDs in my computer, one Windows and one Linux, and that’s how I do some of my stuff. Lutris works for some things, but I generally don’t like having 3-4 programs that are trying to do the same thing, but it only works on 1-2 of those programs. In my opinion, it’s a little silly, but I’ve mainly just given up on trying to make all of that work and just boot into Windows when I need something done quickly without having to jump through hoops. I love Linux, but it is still lacking in some areas.
The best part about Linux, though, is that we can potentially fix our issues with a little bit of collaboration, whereas with Windows, you’re stuck with whatever M$ wants you to have. It’s something, at least! :)
I love PowerToys Run. The Command Palette is ass compared to it. PT Run is basically KRunner from KDE, and I’m absolutely here for it. Finding things (that you have properly indexed) is so fast and easy!

1·1 year agoI got a Dell computer that was headed towards the dump from some older people, and installed TrueNAS Scale onto it. It has almost replaced my Synology I got three years ago, I just need to bite the bullet and buy new drives for it!

4·1 year agoUnfortunately, with Nintendo, nothing is yours any longer. So, I expect these types of projects to be sniped in the coming years. I know and understand what you’re posting here, but Nintendo does not give a fuck any longer.

2·1 year agoI’ve always started with the Dark Brotherhood (it’s my favorite quest line in the Elder Scrolls games), so by the time I get to the Fighter’s Guild, it feels pretty lackluster.
Maybe that won’t be an issue for you though, hopefully!
Cheers! :)

1·1 year agoHey, Atticus! Good to see you playing one of the games that really opened my eyes to PC gaming!
I do believe the painting is the Count himself, and like StoveTop said, maybe supposed to be way before he became a vampire, or made to not look like one!
I’m about to finish up the Fighter’s Guild questline, and then for the main game, all I will have left is the story mode. After that, I can finally do my favorite part, The Shivering Isles!
Love to see people enjoy this “classic”! (my knees cracked typing that one, oof.)

1·1 year agoMine too. Been tinkering with Linux since I was a lad, sudo apt get / sudo apt update is ingrained into my brain.
Now, after running openSUSE Tumbleweed, sudo zypper ref / sudo zypper dup
Still a Linux noob, but I have never loved an operating system more than I have openSUSE. :)

Thank you!
I see that it has a container image for use. TrueNAS Scale has given me some issues before, but since it is being recommended, I will give it a go!

I like to read the comments left by people/“people” on these types of websites, and all those comments were basically saying that this is a little overstepping since “there is plenty of competition” i.e. Xbox and Nintendo.
One of them even said something about “imagine DRM on like your tractor” or something like that, and boy howdy do I wish I didn’t have to create an account to comment back, “Like John Deere…?”
