I’ve had that issue in several ways. Of course what you said, had an extension cord with a switch below my desk and I kept accidentally hitting that switch in the same way, lived in an apartment some years ago that had some shitty electrical work done by the previous tenant and if I had enough lamps on while my computer and screen where on and I tried to plug in my phone or turn the TV on the circuit popped, and most recently I’ve been playing games via cloud streaming (Shadow) and my Ethernet cable has lost the security tab thingy on both ends and I keep accidentally moving other cables so they touch the Ethernet cable and it falls out. Most of the time I can just put it back in an reconnect to the cloud computer but sometimes it just refuses to do that so the cloud computer shuts down before I’m able to get it working. Lost several hours of progress in various games throughout the past couple of years, but I never buy anything new unless it’s absolutely needed so I just live with and accept it '^^

From the little I’ve seen (or more had to be exposed to) they are 100% convinced that Lemmy is like 10 people and nothing else exists. They’re so walled in, much of those walls being built by themselves.

On a vaguely related note, reddit has been so deeply shit now for long enough where it has stopped being a good source of info. It used to be such a good place to find just about any info via a search but now the results are just so fucking weird. Trying to find stuff about new-ish games, tech support, recommendations for anything etc. has become so much harder now.

That just isn’t true. Pokemon never became unpopular, but only had some lesser years. I have a 13 yo half brother and pokemon has been an ever popular thing in his whole school.

Used to up until my early 20s, I very rarely buy plain white bread now and it’s not that common in stores here (Sweden). Obviously there’s two or three brands of basic white toast bread and some in store fresh white bread but we have tons of choices with so many different ingredients, and never any weird additives or bread that is as much bread as american cheese is cheese (seen those kinds abroad and from images and videos from the US).

My current two favourites are a wholegrain durum wheat sourdough with flaxseeds and sea salt and the other is a rye sourdough with wort, barley malt and a small amount of dark treacle (similar to molasses in taste). But I often try new kinds, even the smaller food stores here have like 30 different breads (not including stuff like burger and hot dog buns etc.)

I and, from what I’ve seen discussed here and elsewhere online, many other people have stopped watching the channel because of many valid reasons completely unrelated to AI. I haven’t watched a single one of their videos for years, something changed in their content and I just lost interest. Then there have been several controversial events throughout the years, both objective bad stuff and subjective things that made many loose interest and faith in their integrity. They definitely became one of the many channels that lost it’s way because of how big it got. The animations became too “perfect” in a weird way, they lost their personality and they also got scared of having real opinions so they started doing this “all sides” shit and that’s when I tapped out. I’ve tried to watch new videos from them about once every 6 months or so, but I can’t even make it past a minute without completely loosing interest.

I couldn’t give less of a fuck if anyone’s a traitor to their own country in that way. The tax evasion is bad because of ethics, not because he “betrayed his country”. It didn’t have any effect on his lifestyle but he chose to do it anyway, it’s all about him being a greedy fuck and not about Nationalism.

Why watch playthroughs at all? Just wait till the games are on sale. And only a year isn’t that long, wait more and get better deals with more complete games. There’s nothing saying you need to hurry in any way, and several things saying it’s a good idea to wait. There are more than enough games available for anyone to not have to constantly claw at the newest releases in any way.

It’s like a xenomorphception that ends with a bouquet of flowers from the last mouth. The idea of that feels like something you’d see in an alien parody, something like space balls but in the alien universe.
The xenomorphs go around trying to romance people, either fully aware of or not realising the horrors that will ensue.
You see someone being chased ending up being cornered by a xenomorph who proceeds to slowly open its mouth and the inner mouth comes out, the that opens and an even smaller one comes out etc. Then once it’s done that way more times than you’d be comfortable ( as comfortable as one can be in that situation, both as the person there and as a viewer) a last absolutely tiny mouth extends, opens and pushes out a bouquet of flowers. The human immediately forgets they’ve been running for their lives and puts their hands over their heart, tilts their head and sighs in a heartfelt moment of love. They take the tiny bouquet, holds it to their chest, puts their hand on the side of the xenomorphs head and closs their eyes as they move in for a kiss of pure passion. Now there are two options, the xenomorph doesn’t realise it’s strength and as it tries to kiss back it just blasts through the skull of their new love. Or they end up actually making out and we get a sex scene with the xenomorph using its multi-tiered mouth abomination to absolutely go ham the nether regions of their new lover. Then it fades out to the disturbing sounds of interspecies love making and cuts to both sitting in bed smoking cigarettes, the xenomorph having one cigarette in each of it’s several months.

A much better reference would be Warframe. I haven’t played Helldivers 2 (yet) but from what I’ve seen there are some similarities, like having your base of operations in a personal ship.

I gotta ask, is Helldivers 2 playable solo? Like, not even with random other people?

Dude(ette), I have nothing to do with this self hosting thing and even I knew years ago plex was shit. It’s been extremely obvious just from browsing reddit (before leaving) and lemmy.
