Works fine on my machine
I don’t own an IBM mainframe so.
ESXi sucks
What really chaps my ass is when they don’t bother to tell you. It always happens when I’m filling out a form and find out that the submit button just doesn’t do anything. Then I have to go back through chrome just to fill out the same form a second time.
Just set the clock back a month.
As far as preventing use data, you can usually unplug the cell modem, or you can put a faraday bag over it in order to prevent it from connecting.
I’m sure that there is also a software solution for these issues as well. I have a cable and software for my car that lets me enable and disable features.
I wish I had enough money to afford to buy a new car, I probably wouldn’t do it because affordable would still mean living paycheck to paycheck. Not sure why I would want a second mortgage on something that depreciates that quickly.
They say the full version is the inspiration for infinite jest.
Plankton farts and dies
It is infringement if you’re sharing the files, but if you make a copy for yourself, then it’s considered fair use. See: Sony Corp. of America v. Universal City Studios, Inc.
Internet isn’t always available, such as in an airplane or someone might not want to give access to the Internet to their child but wants to give them video or audio on a tablet. They can legally copy the content and watch it later.
There are legal issues with software that is solely designed to bypass drm, but that only applies to the software creator, not the user.
That isn’t piracy. It’s time shifting, and it’s perfectly legal to do it.
I had one that intentionally detected a VM and just gave a message that said “Hello :)” and wouldn’t load.
Thanks for making Lemmy!
AI can easily replace upper and middle management.
Then don’t use it.
There was a bunch of downtime over the holidays. I assumed it was due to the Lemmy update withholding posts for several days and then flooding kbin. It doesn’t bother me in the slightest and I have multiple fediverse accounts.
It’s pretty rare to have high performance requirements in an embedded application. Many people load one project onto their pi and for most cases it’s overkill. If you need modern codecs, then buy a streaming box. If you want a nas, then buy a nas. You also need to factor in the additional ~$20-$30 of stuff that you need just to boot up a pi.
I unloaded my pi 4 on eBay those past summer because the prices were so high and got the thin client for cheaper. No regrets.
Legally, you’re allowed to make copies of games that you own and use them in an emulator. You can download mods, play multiplayer across the Internet when servers get shut down and also take advantage of better hardware and get better resolution and framerates, then there are quality of life improvements like savestates.
