Bribery seems like such a quaint, old-timey thing to be punished for strongly enough to warrant suicide… (in the us anyway)

Hmm…
You know, this take on how potions works tracks really well with the vanilla potion skins on Diablo 2… I had never really considered that the potions don’t get -stronger-, you just consume a larger volume of them…
This is the second reference to elbows I’ve seen related to this topic, and I really don’t understand. Would you mind providing context?
I assume you are on android? I believe voyager is available on android, and I can see the gif in it at least on iOS.
They are also testing piefed support, I’m on a test flight version for that now, so that’s pretty swanky.

I’d have to guess his family suspected/knew he was a piece of shit and wanted proof. Maybe he was also abusive? I don’t imagine someone like that would be like… super kind otherwise, you know?

1·5 months agoMarching lockstep is something that takes years to stop doing after getting out, though. Band kids have a similar problem. And even then you catch it sometimes, a desire to do it…
It bothers you for years when you walk hand in hand with your partner. Because you can’t hold hands and walk lockstep… you have to perfectly time the opposite step, so you can perfectly hold their hand.
It only takes one refresher, and you go back to it.
Lactose intolerance is rough.

6·6 months agoI don’t know this company but fiber came into my area (central WI) a few years ago and I couldn’t be happier.
Prior to that the infrastructure I was on for cable internet was old and would have frequent problems.
The brand new infrastructure is figuratively worth its weight in gold, imho, even if the company itself is just as crap and your price ends up the same.
Even better, the fiber cables run underground, so other than having them severed when digging, they won’t go out unless there is a major widespread outage. No random branch taking out your service in a wind storm or whatever nonsense.

111·6 months agoNobody wants to pay for all the little individual piecemeal services and shit, because it’s wildly expensive and inconvenient, and because they keep adding ads to the paid stuff anyway because greed, so what benefit is there to paying?
I’m not familiar with that work but based on your presentation, I’d argue that that goo puddle was actually just a phase of being down, like deep depression, because, importantly, he didn’t stay a goo pile. Being down and depressed is fine, life happens, but coming out of it and longing for living life as a result is pretty optimistic. You have to -really believe- things are going to improve to be light, even with someone perfectly optimized to drive you crazy to keep you sane… that doesn’t touch on how it feels. And considering the burden, he was super light about it.
I found lister to be incredibly optimistic. Sure he got down now and then but, like, he’s essentially isolated knowing there isn’t much else coming for him in life (and sure that ends up not being true, due to various shenanigans), so the fact that he keeps going and doesn’t just turn into a puddle of goo is pretty heartening, imho.
Perseverance and stuff. Enjoy what comes because it may be the only good that does.
Is I/O in this context input/output? I’ve seen it used this way before but I’m not super techie so no clue.

1·6 months agoOut of those I’ve devoted a ton of time to rimworld and oxygen not included, are any of the others on your list similar, or others you’d recommend for someone who likes them? I tried dwarf fortress but I found it to be… not my bag. I didn’t get very far into it tho.
(I do like mods, so that’s an ok requirement)
I’ve been doing these for years… they don’t work as intended for more than a year or two, and then become pretty unstable. Even the lady who created it went back to low-maintenance (as opposed to zero input) systems after a few years. Still with the dirt and all but not without water movement and stuff.
