When you say ignore AI, do you mean stick your head in the sand and hope it goes away or actively avoid interacting with AI and AI based projects?

This website linked in the post you replied to lists a bunch of reasons.

Honestly would’ve fit perfectly in that movie, but the verification can doesn’t have electrolytes.

If it’s one of the Inland Microcenter branded ones, I believe I’ve seen tests run on those and they have really short lifespans, just a handful of years. So just use it for file transfers and not for any long term storage.

The RAM suppliers would probably be thrilled to end those consumer contracts, they could allocate more to high paying AI.

I believe that happened before the source code leak. All of the game item parameters were stored in a 10mb JSON file and they were loaded by a single threaded parser, the random guy patched it.

I don’t know exactly what AC EVO was planning, but it seems like racing games don’t try to make fun career modes anymore.
That’s an interesting point, I’m kind of surprised if docker images don’t have any measures to prevent malicious takeovers.

The steam deck has unfortunately sold a tiny fraction of the sales of the consoles listed in the image. I can’t find any exact numbers but the steam deck has sold between 4 to 6 million units.

Usually they don’t have more money than they know what to do with, what money have have gets funnelled into their addiction, the rest becomes debt.

Is DSL not available in rural areas? That still uses the phone line and should be significantly faster. I don’t understand how people can still even use dial up, can a 56k modem load most websites in a reasonable time frame? I should try throttling my connection and seeing if it’s viable.

Damn, RPGs peaked in the 80s for you. What did these games do right that nothing has done better since?

Out of curiosity, what are some games that you consider contenders for greatest RPG?

How is it better than a steam deck?

Those seem like niche things to hold on to. A 5090 should work just fine under Linux, what feature do you use that isn’t supported? Also a 9070 XT is capable of doing ray tracing. You don’t always have to have the absolute most powerful card.
I don’t have an HDR monitor so can’t say how well it works in Linux, but you can survive without HDR. Is a better lighting contrast that big of a deal?

Switch 2 GPU is similar in spec to a laptop RTX 2050 with more vram and better DLSS, I wouldn’t say that’s mid range gaming PC.
I’d say something decent will exist by the end of the decade if Nintendo can’t stop development of emulators.

It’s not the best selling console of all time. It had one of the best launches, but the PS2, DS and OG switch sold 160, 154 and 152 million. Switch 2 only has 5 million so far.

Not the greatest guide. 2 and 3 shouldn’t be causing overheating unless you are running a potato. I don’t know the impact of 4, but I can’t imagine that its much on modern PCs. 1 and 5 are the only real advice. Blocked vents and dust are the other two good points, everything else seems questionable. Tab overload isn’t a problem anymore, both Chrome and Firefox manage and deactivate tabs you haven’t recently used.
The vast majority do not use oil. They use natural gas or coal.
