I wholeheartedly disagree. Downvotes are my favorite part of this kind of comment system. I know that, per the rules, “downvotes aren’t for disagreement”, but most people don’t respect that and I think it’s asinine. Both kinds of votes are a valuable way of contributing to a discussion without having to spend the time and effort to write a comment.

I see one comment like that, and they couched that opinion in so much praise for the steam deck that your reaction to it seems way over the top.

There are plastics that aren’t oil derived. Some of them are even compostable in an industrial setting.

If something is marketed as “unlimited”, I don’t think there is such a thing as “wildly excessive use”. This isn’t a competitive eater going to an all-you-can-eat buffet and being mad about getting kicked out. It’s a business using a service in a way that’s seemingly in-line with what they paid for.
