TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name@lemmy.world•Think of "Don't Fear the Reaper" as a cleanser, because more cowbell
5·1 month agoAs a music teacher, this is absolutely haunting and even worse than I initially thought. Waco??? I might want to throw up… I’ve read about how bad the FBI & ATF fucked up there and it makes me physically ill…

2·2 months agoTo be fair, there are both types of pubs. Since I do not care for sports or fancy places, I always go to the more quaint ones. I love those links, by the way. Thanks a mil.

6·2 months agoReally? When I’m going to a pub in the UK it’s called something like “The Old George” or “The King’s Inn”, the building must be a few hundred years old with a door frame so low it bonks any unsuspecting patron right in the head. There are at least two fireplaces lit, minimum requirement of one sleepy old dog who’s been there since forever and all the furniture looks like it’s been hand carved way before anyone came up with the idea of DIN standards. The only music playing is of course made by some fiddler and a patron singing off-key since they had at least a few pints too many.

TenForward: Where Every Vulcan Knows Your Name@lemmy.world•How many books have you read today?!?
2·3 months agoAs far as I know, Eoin Colfer was always very fond of the work of Douglas Adams. Jane Belson, the widow of Adams, supported the last novel being written by Colfer. The book does not have the same drive at all times, but it is a fairly alright last chapter to an epic and bonkers saga. Colfer had some very big shoes to fill here and I think he did a solid job.
Personally, I liked the first 4 books best. Starship Titanic is quite funny, too. My all time favourite book of Douglas Adams is Last chance to see, though. :)
My favourite co-op games are:
- A way out
- It takes two
- Slit fiction
- Unravel 2
- Untitled goose game
- Operation tango
- Deep rock galactic

Casual UK@feddit.uk•Why do British women wear too much makeup?English
6·3 months agoA lot of them look like Oompa Loompas with their fake spray tan, just like the Orange Man across the big lake. Add fake eyelashes and fake nails, bam, that’s exactly what OP seems to be talking about. Oddly enough, this applies to Ireland as well.
That’s what I love about Irish summers. 3 weeks tops, then back to my beloved shite weather. I am not designed to deal with the 10-14 weeks of boiling hell in Germany each year.
I just got up at 5:30 am and misread it as Postal 2 - I was so confused for a few seconds. ;D
