I’m so confused, I’m a Spotify user and there are multiple artists I’ve selected “don’t play this artist” on that Spotify blocks for me; it won’t even play those artists when I click playlists including them.
you’re probably an idiot. I know I am.

Honestly no joke, I do hope the future is one where we eschew all this needless religiously-borne body shame. We are the only animal on the planet that feels the need to be ashamed of our genitalia. That’s weird. And I think it’s weird as hell that for the vast majority of us, we have no idea what like 20% of the bodies of our very closest friends and relatives look like. That’s crazy to me - I don’t know what 20% of my very best friend actually looks like.
So yeah, I desperately hope humanity in the future has figured out how get past this unnecessary shame.
If it helps, of the over 1050+ releases I’ve rated I’ve only ever given four albums a perfect 10/10 score. 84 9s, 239 8s, 345 7s, 253 6s, 91 5s, 41 4s, and 6 3s (don’t see much point is wasting my time on anything less enjoyable than that), so while I stand by my rating I think it’s worth noting that my 7s are probably comparable to a lot of people’s 8s.
I had a lot of fun listening to this when it released and ultimately I rated it 7/10 aka “very good.”
I agree with you, but I do believe that is an unrealistic expectation for interacting with casual lemmy posts when a custom of including relevant context exists. But all good, I’ll admit my lack of awareness on this one; you did nothing wrong.
It’s been covered in tons of gaming circles this week alongside the similar destruction of Polygon, so I didn’t think it needed to be stated yet again as I was summarizing bullet points from a live stream.
Very fair and valid.
I will just gently state that this is c/games, not c/gamingcircles and thus many of us are very interested in video games but not necessarily the industries on the periphery thereof, so what seems “yet again” to you might be a first time for others.
“to what happened with Giant Bomb”
Boy I sure am glad that seemingly-crucial part of context was included in this post.
…
You know that for the vast majority of human history copyright didn’t exist, and yet people still created art and culture, right?
edit: If you’re gonna downvote, have the balls to explain how I’m wrong.
Yeah that’s probably the key. While I’m blessed in that I have friends in my life, I don’t really have any gamer friends so it’s also just me vs randoms in these scenarios
Mental Cruelty and Open Mike Eagle
I’m excited to see if they turn it into a FPS or a Sokoban-type game, since we learned from FF7R that apparently you can radically change the core gameplay mechanic but still call your game a “remake” somehow
I know I’m an old head, but I fall all of these games (Deadlock, Apex Legends, Overwatch, whatever) to be fun for about two hours and then I’m sated.
I genuinely wish I understood the appeal because so many people seem to get so much joy from them.
Good for them, but until EGS starts being more pro- consumer, I’m not spending a cent there
I can’t recommend Celeste enough, personally.
I will warn you that the platforming can be challenging, but if it’s too stressful Celeste offers almost unparalleled accessibility options that will allow you fine control over the difficulty so no matter your skill level you’ll be able to progress.
Great story, cozy atmosphere but still emotional impact, and the only “fighting” you do is against yourself.
Amazing game, highly recommend Celeste
The actual audacity
I mean…
The unfortunate reality is that both parties, the customer and the game company, are culpable and both share blame
I think part of why it feels so non-impactful to you is because 9/11 truly set off a chain of events that has led to the situation we’re in, including the many tragedies you mention in your comment. Of course 9/11 doesn’t exist in a vacuum, and it itself is just a one part of a much more complex web of actions and decisions, but the fact remains that for most common people 9/11 was an absolute tipping point after which nothing is the same. The sort of horrors you’re talking about in the world in the wake of 9/11 just weren’t the same kind of reality in the world before, at least not with the same intents and reactions thereto. You’re right to think it’s strange the way people react to and hold 9/11 because you’re never experienced the world before it. And to be clear, I am not saying the world was perfect before or that there weren’t horrors before, because their were, but 9/11 became a catalyst for so much reactionary evil and overreach and horror that it simply is non-comparable to what came before.
important note: this entire comment and perspective implies an enormous Western post-colonial bias. People in different parts of the world had and have an enormously different reality especially in regards to this event and I will not pretend to be able to speak to their experience.
