Like the McRib and chlamydia, we’re back baby!
As we watch Kanye, Asmongold, [random influencer] continues to say and encourage their fan base to believe in the most terrible shit…
Remember that if their actions start affecting too much of their pocketbook, they can just apologize. Oh, and pay PR shills to clean up their mess.
PewDiePie spent years putting that belief out in many different ways. What you saw in the news was just what was reported. There’s no remorse. Just a “Well sorry that happened”.
You’re not misremembering.
He had a team scrub that off the internet and now a bunch of people have been gaslit.
PewDiePie’s PR machine got you so good you’re defending a multimillionaire for his BS.
“You appear sickly. It’s because one of your humors are imbalanced. Have some bleach in your veins and get some fresh air to reduce the miasma.”
Johnathan Blow comes to mind.
Peter Molyneux is still top tier delusional, and has a lot of incredible popcorn material.
I don’t know the drama completely, but the Star Citizen folks. Don’t have any names to rattle off.
He didn’t really apologize at all. He brushed it off, moved on, and then everyone pretended like it didn’t exist.
His PR machine worked hard to clean up his mess.
Imagine if JK Rowling’s got quiet then two years later, came back and everyone gaslight you into saying they just went through a phase.
And yet, I’m the one getting heavily down voted.
Nah I’m saying you say racist shit, you don’t get off the hook.
I hate that you were down voted but you are absolutely correct.
There’s no agreed definition of indie.
Back when I worked marketing and would attend GDC conferences, there were awards for “Indies” that had 30 people teams financed by major companies, competing against 1-2 people teams who took a loan against their house.
It’s stupid and frustrating.
And now, with Dave the Diver, it’s just highlighting the truth - Its always been a vibe, a aesthetic. You just have to make it look indie, and call it that.
Whatever definition you hold personally doesn’t matter.
Pretty much. The whole “Internet is forever” doesn’t mean shit if you can be a dick and then throw money to PR fix your reputation.
Yeah. Guy does a few Nazi things and anti-Semitic things a few years ago and he has to live with that reputation forever? . And come on, why are you living in the past? Just because Kanye straight off said some Nazi shit every few months? Dude, separate the art from the artist!
Oh, and Kevin Spacey did a bit of rape back then. But it was so long ago!
And while we’re here, Bill Cosby drugged those girls in the 70s. Like my dude, who wasn’t a little edgy back then?
The worst part, the demo was actually pretty good.
They literally could have released this game with mod support, and sold it for $20 and it would have been a fun party game.
Instead, they kept going on with BS games as a service.
I made a salad while thinking of this exact rule.
And surprise. Still too small.
What are people supposed to post in People Twitter then?
I don’t have a problem when they bring it up either. It’s when they dismiss my story to highlight theirs.
“Oh, you were in a car accident? That’s NOTHING. I was in a REAL car accident where I nearly died.”
“Your parents divorced? That’s not even a real divorce. They just separated. My dad died. From the car accident.”
“Oh, your house was on fire? You call that a fire? PATHETIC. My house was on fire after my mom drove her car into it, setting off a gas explosion, killing my father.”
Maybe I need Cortana, Microsoft Excel, and OneDrive while I play Doom Eternal. You don’t know me.
Or… Here me out, don’t do that.
By giving them money, from their perspective, you’ve accepted their t&c. If they get data or not, that’s just icing on the cake.
When I was a kid, there was a phase where everyone was obsessed with red flannel. Went on for like 3 months.
Imagine a pro dominantly black/Latino school in the hood where we’re all dressing up like Al Borland from Home Improvement.
