Ps5 pro, just got released. But it’s entirely too expensive for what its offering over base ps5, doesn’t have a disc reader, and while I love my base model there really aren’t that many games taking advantage of it so having to pay more for remastered last gen games doesn’t feel like a good value for most folks I’d imagine.

I love the entertainment factor of James but he and Lance both are held up as gods by coffee people when i think a lot of what they produce, especially their “scientific” experiments, are questionable at best.

In roasting we have a similar problem with Scott Rao who most professional roasters think is a fool.

The answer is actually corporate greed and synthesized hype for what’s probably a pretty quality piece of equipment if you remove all the enshitification from it.

Chicory in coffee? Probably not. Brewed chicory though? Not bad but it’s just another drink imo. Blue Bottle also does a chicory drink that’s pretty good.

But it also has more to do with your ratios. If the extraction is too bitter try changing a variable and see if you get a better result. More coffee, less water, etc. that’s also how baristas and the rest of us espresso makers dial in shots.

I really wish they wouldn’t continue to grow the cast. We’re starting to get into game of thrones levels of simultaneous story arcs. The original core cast was so good.

Just reading through the comments I can’t tell if you’re buying from a local roaster or not but you should do that if not. You can also chat with them about recipes for the beans to know extraction ratios, dosage amounts, etc. I used to have the Oracle touch and ended up buying some simple 3d printed items that turned it into a single dose grinder and allowed me to tamp manually. Might be something you wanna look at. Ironically I found the Oracle although more expensive and makes very good coffee doesn’t make great coffee because of all the automation. Even compared to less expensive Brevilles. I can try to find links to what I purchased or to the actual plans on case you print yourself if you’d like.

If you’re gonna do that you can also try cupping beans first to get a sense of what they taste like before properly extracting them. I roast as well and this always helps get like the essence of the bean/roast profile’s taste down so I know how I want to extract.

In the case of abuse at home should the school tell the parents if the kids report it? Where do you draw the line for privacy and what difference does it make if the parents are aware their kid gos by different pronouns at school? Why do so many people look at kids like they are property…? And this is coming from someone who can’t stand being around kids most of the time…

FWIW I always cup my beans ~12 hours off roast. I’ve taken quite a few classes from commercial roasters and they’ve always been consistent in that but obviously this is quite often more art than science so if it works for you then that’s great!

How’s it taste? That’s the most important question! Did you cup the roast at all? I don’t remember where the settings for those notes are but I can look at mine and see if I can find them.
