I’m partial to TST’s Seven Tenets, and they work for “laws of sentience” in a sci-fi universe as well.

Definitely not that cold today. It was maybe 60F (15C). Puppers was just fine, though those snow boots made for some awkward waddling when I went to say hello. Funniest shit I’ve seen all week!

Possibly, though seasons vary wildly across the earth, so results would likely be limited to regions, and even then, we travel around a lot and have things like electricity and indoor heating which would probably negate most impacts.

Stray is an awesome game that’s easy to learn, fun, and really beautiful. Makes for a great starter game

As an electrician I approve this analogy

Murderbot of course (Martha Wells), also The Wayfarers series by Becky Chambers. Also her novella To Be Taught, If Fortunate

I totally misread your post as you were meeting up with some old friends who are science geckos and I wanted the story behind all of that, but then I read it again and was disappointed in the lack of geckos.
Enjoy your boring gecko-free meet up.
Re. Dropping your tank, you could always add some grip stickers. I put them on my work coffee cups (I have some contigo cups that are tall and slippery when carried with wet hands) and they work great! They come in different patterns, I got hexagons and placed them sort of staggered but honeycomb-like and I think they look kinda neat. They’ve stayed in place since I put them on a few years back, just handwash instead of dishwasher. I dunno what you do with your tank, if it’s a dishwasher kind of thing or not, but yeah, they may be an option for you.
