Assassin Gloomstalker dual wielding hand crossbows, and taking a swig of Elixir of Bloodlust. That’s 8 attacks on turn 1, assuming he’s initiating combat from stealth and killing an enemy.

dmonzel@lemmy.mlto Star Trek Social Club@startrek.website•TrekMovie.com: Patrick Stewart Reveals New Star Trek Movie Script Featuring Jean-Luc Picard Is In The WorksEnglish62·2 years agoTo be fair, I haven’t watched the latest season of LD, but up to that point, it really was “get this reference? See? Giant Spock’s skeleton! Remember this energy being that escaped the Enterprise-D?” However, I went into LD knowing that that was what I was going to be getting, and while I won’t say it’s my favorite nu-Trek series, I do really enjoy it.

They reused the V’Ger sound/theme for the enemy. They brought back a character from another show in the franchise. They brought back a character who appeared in two whole episodes of TNG. Large parts of the sound design were lifted from the TNG-era series. Seriously, almost as much fan service as Lower Decks.

dmonzel@lemmy.mlto Baldur's Gate 3@lemmy.world•What having a bard in the party is likeEnglish3·2 years agoI mean, there’s a “concentration” tag on the spell, and the character’s picture in the turn display has an icon added when concentrating.
dmonzel@lemmy.mlto Baldur's Gate 3@lemmy.world•What having a bard in the party is likeEnglish3·2 years agoUse your Bard’s abilities to buff your allies to give them advantage, or to break your enemies to give them disadvantage. Bards can also put enemies to sleep, make them fall prone with laughter, and sling horrible insults like “you have a visage well suited for scroll-writing.” This will make your allies less likely to take damage, and more likely to deal more damage themselves. A bard can also heal, so at least in the early game you can run 3 dedicated DPS and a bard and have no issues in most situations.
dmonzel@lemmy.mlto Baldur's Gate 3@lemmy.world•What having a bard in the party is likeEnglish9·2 years agoThe main problem i have is that I almost never saw those conditions last for even one turn, they would just pass a save and it was like the spell might as well have just missed.
Some of the spells mentioned require concentration. As an example, if you cast Tasha’s Hideous Laughter one turn, and then any other spell that requires concentration the next turn like Hex or Bless or any of the hundred or so spells, your character stops concentrating on Tasha’s Hideous Laughter, thus ending its effects.
dmonzel@lemmy.mlto Baldur's Gate 3@lemmy.world•What having a bard in the party is likeEnglish2·2 years agoBuffing and breaking make DPS easier. If your DPS units are taking less damage, that means fewer turns are needed for healing, so your healer can do some other buffing, or even some damage. Heck, at least in the early game, you could run a bard as your healer and support, who on off-turns could also deal damage, then use three dedicated DPS units. That’ll help you out with your desire to see big bonks.

Then you can check the sources listed in the article. You’re not just supposed to take Wikipedia’s word for it, but you are allowed to click on the links in the references section. So either you’re not aware of this, or you’re not making this argument in good faith. In either event, because looking at the several sources in the wiki article I provided seems like it’s still not good enough for you, I get the feeling this conversation is going nowhere.

A few of the sources are literally from 2023. But do go on, it certainly seems like you’re here in good faith, right?

dmonzel@lemmy.mlto Technology@lemmy.world•China launches test runs for world’s largest plant that can convert coal to ethanolEnglish64·2 years agoMany developments initially criticized as ghost cities did materialize into economically vibrant areas when given enough time to develop, such as Pudong, Zhujiang New Town, Zhengdong New Area, Tianducheng and malls such as the Golden Resources Mall and South China Mall.[15] While many developments failed to live up to initial lofty promises, most of them eventually became occupied when given enough time.[6][16]
Reporting in 2018, Shepard noted that “Today, China’s so-called ghost cities that were so prevalently showcased in 2013 and 2014 are no longer global intrigues. They have filled up to the point of being functioning, normal cities”.[17]
Writing in 2023, academic and former UK diplomat Kerry Brown described the idea of Chinese ghost cities as a bandwagon popular in the 2010s which was shown to be a myth.[18]: 151-152
What is this, 2010? I very vividly remember this feature on my Nexus One.
