  • I don’t think she should be earning so much, but varannandagsutdelning does actually make sense with how few letters get sent (even though I’d also prefer daily delivery). But crazy that stamp prices have also basically doubled.

I think the main issue I have is that this also applies to time critical post, and thus post can arrive too late.

But just like with so many other public service things and agencies, Sweden is determined to make a paper profit. Vinstkrav. Would be cool if SJ for example was allowed to sell their train tickets for cheaper prices, but nope, they need to make at least 10% profit or something around that.

When it comes to essential infrastructure it makes no sense to me that they need to operate on a profit.

  • This actually makes me so cross. We can’t call plant milks “milk” because of their lobbying, and now they go and co-opt our stuff and taint it. The nerve of these corporations. I mean it’s crapitalism, I’m not at all surprised, but it’s infuriating nonetheless.

Are they at least labelling these corpse-littered products clearly? I’ve been a lacto-ovo vegetarian since birth, and a vegan for well over a decade; I can’t eat meat without getting horribly ill from it. I mean the obvious answer here is to boycott these companies (I already don’t buy quorn, and I’ve never heard of Smug Dairy), but I worry that other companies will follow suit and start sneaking corpses into vegan products.

If I had more spoons I’d go back to just making everything from scratch again.

  • I think it’s a mixture of toxic behaviours brought on by a patriarchal society, and an unhealthy dose of cognitive dissonance. Consuming corpses is for some reason a sign of masculinity, the less cooked it is the better, assuming you don’t char it on a grill because that’s the epitome of masculinity.

At this point, I believe most people know that a carnist diet isn’t exactly a good thing. There are severe effects on your health. It causes an immense suffering among animals. There’s an increased risk for various diseases being transmitted (salmonella, swine flu, avian flu, Creutzfeldt-Jakob, etc.) and making its way to humans. It’s an immense source of pollution and is actively destroying the environment.

Examining these things however takes volition, and plenty of people just lack that. Instead people compartmentalise it away because admitting you’re partaking and supporting an oppressive and negative system hurts so it’s easier to just pretend that you don’t.
