I wear them at work because normally you are only allowed to wear one ear bud to keep awareness but I am deaf in one ear. The clean room suits actually help improve the sound (I think they vibrate a little). I also use them at my desk so people can’t sneak up on me.
At home I use them for phone calls because I don’t sound weird to me unlike regular headphones.
That approach never sinks in with anyone I train. They seem to remember that I told them something about something so they do that not remembering I said not to do that.
When I was messing around with it, I had to go back and fix it’s code more often than not. It’s still useful for get the be bones of a program going though.
Only if rail can figure out their shit and hire enough workers and give them all time off. Too many train derailments from precision scheduled railroading.
They really pissed me off with their Terry Prachet bundle a few months ago. Only in the small text did it state the books had kobo DRM. I’ve been buying bundles for a decade and never had to worry about DRM before so I didn’t even think to look for it.

If I had a job where I could work from home I think I’d rather be in the office most of the time but I would appreciate the flexibility. I just really hate zoom meetings. I find most in person meetings can be done a little more spur of the moment and you are in and out in 5-15 minutes where the scheduled zoom meetings are an hour of some upper manager droning on in an attempt to justify their existence.
I’m much happier that 99% of the time I’m physically working on machines and not in face to face or zoom meetings but that’s just been my experience.
This was so confusing. We are doing RTO at work but it means rotating time off not return to office. In general people are pretty happy here to get some extra vacation even if it’s unpaid (we can claim unemployment so it’s not that big of a hit). It’s manufacturing so there’s never been work from home except some management types during peak COVID.

Ahh got it. I don’t use it as regularly as I did 10-20 years ago but I’d still miss it being around.

I think the RIAA has a different view on that. Huge push backs against recordable cassettes and VHS tapes when they were introduced.

I read his summary it was filled with sentences like “Thus begins the War of the Rings to End All Wars of the Rings.” It reeks of shitty fan fiction that should have lived out it’s life in a lost corner of the internet with all the other shitty fan fiction out there. It could easily have stayed there until humanity wipes itself out and the last servers lose power. This troll had to go a poke the bear and sue the rights holders for plagiarizing him in a prequel show loosely based off of existing Tolkien works when his novels are sequels.
As for what has value and why only things that have value matter. I think value is provided if a work of art or piece of media make you feel something, think about something new, or maybe just let you escape for a bit. What does that is going to vary based on the individual. I’m pretty sure this book only provided value to the author.
I think it’s okay to let this one go doesn’t seem like there is any value in his work.
I do think it’s time to open up the rights to older IPs and let the community make their own stories within universes though. I loved all the star wars EU stuff as a kid.
I think it was somewhere around 6 to 10 hours with a certified instructor. The 40 with an adult was yeah a family member or friend. The quality definitely depended on the adult. My parents took it seriously and made sure we completed the lessons, but I had friends whose parents just signed the form without providing the additional instruction. It was 20 years ago so details are fuzzy.
That doesn’t sound all that different from where I learned in Maryland. You had to go to a class for a few months that had both theoretical and practical portions. You had to do 40 hours of supervised driving outside of class with an adult. The 40 hours covered a range of situations. Then there was a driving test. Which I passed fine for the car but failed for a motorcycle because I started about a foot back from the stop sign on the course so I didn’t pull up and stop at it. Doh.
When I bought my Tiguan the dealer was pushing really hard for me to get a 2022 which has just come in. It was the first year to have capacitive steering wheel buttons. I told them to find a 2021 or I’m looking at something else. I think the car market was still a little slow at that time so they made it happen to get a sale.
I love Voyager, DS9 and TNG. 90s were the best time for trek.
Enterprise not so much, but it was getting pretty good by the end.
