i mean it’s partially true… many of those weird android tv boxes have spyware loaded onto them, mostly for botnet/residential proxies and sometimes infostealers.

you wouldn’t download a television

i think it was less than 50GB but my memory is hazy… it’s in my backup drive somewhere, i’ll make a post here if i get to upload it

for mobile distros theres also droidian (basically mobian with downstream kernel and halium) and maemo leste (continuation of nokia’s maemo fremantle)

cydia.vn and repo.hackyouriphone.org are the ones i use(d), seems like HYI is down rn, maybe gone? I do have a full backup from 2022 and they haven’t had updates in years so guess i should share it somewhere…

i believe it really depends on the region you’re on sadly :(
i live in a fairly small country and i usually source my drives from a marketplace in some server related internet forum, maybe there’s something similar. i guess you gotta try stuff like ebay, facebook marketplace or your equivalent local 2nd hand market platform.

i would avoid smaller wd external hdds, the big ones or seagate ones have sata hdd inside, but those wd ones are usb-only. you get to trash the drive if the converter fails (which is pretty common)
also consider getting larger enterprise 2nd hand drives, those are pretty cheap and nice

something i heard is that it’s better to pay during the initial setup for getting the server located in an ideal location and cancelling the payment afterwards (?). just thought it might be helpful

yeah sure, but it should cover up the vast majority of stuff except new releases

Gulim (default font for korean windows before vista, so similar to Tahoma) with font smoothing disabled :)

i’d rather spend time actually learning and doing things instead of being an LLM slopper lol

as a student, this is much more interesting than studying

not sure if it’s very related but apparently spotify is killing their api. hopefully annas releases proper dumps that can replace it…

last commit 3yrs ago… seems unmaintained

their ui was perfect. why can’t we have nice things…

seems like they had a decent name ‘revolt’ but got some cease and desist and didn’t resist and decided to switch.

has anyone tried their iOS client? from their description it seems like it’s less mature than the android version, kinda concerning as my friend group has some iphone users.

could you recommend a good xmpp setup? i heard good things about snikket, maybe something else too?
maybe google project ara https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Project_Ara
