bold boimler!
love the characters and casting but the narratives of disco leave me wanting something else
I remember I used to worry about latency with these but then I found out how bad YouTube streams are
federated identity good, centralized identity maybe not so good
this is great, my lug has a script we have to share around for new Linux users to increase this and it will be nice with more distros having this set high by default
last I looked I think it’s even easier on heroic than lutris git. soonTM
like wine patch notes, often someone reports that an old bug on a very old product seems to have gone away at some point so it gets reported as fixed, even if it’s not something that had to be specifically looked at by anybody
tbh I just assume that despite GDPR or CCPA any images I put up are there forever, it’s not like the tech is that different in the fediverse from anywhere else. nowhere is going to be scrubbing their storage drive blocks on delete if it even can be deleted
think I might skip it. I made the mistake of watching Picard and I really wish I could forget
heh, I’m almost surprised I can still see lemmy world from here
10/10 characters and casting, but wtf is going on with the writing
my expectation is that since they described it as being linked to kelvin it’s going to have jj abrams kelvin vibes instead of new trek vibes
unfortunately it’s kelvin timeline so … ugh
a community for it makes sense to me, gives a lot of flexibility for filtering to relevant categories, keywords and such, without fear of causing noise/clutter, and that still leaves the door open to cross posting to specific communities too where it makes sense
philanthropy is the industry of laundering money and reputations
I remain of the opinion that New Trek has some of the most annoying sci-fi fan service outside of Star Wars. given every opportunity there’s references to other trek things crammed in everywhere
