I like Casio watches, but yeah I’d pass.

Small screen, combined with poor/touch screen controls, and wanting to make money no matter what by pushing ads everywhere because no one wants to pay $10+ for a mobile software.
The only time I consider a mobile a game is when there is an ad-free option available.
For those kind of devices, the manufacturer should be required to make it possible to easily load a third-party firmware when they declare a device as obsolete.
I understand it’s not financially viable to support a device beyond a certain threshold, but there’s likely a community behind those that are willing to keep these devices alive for a while longer, with the benefit of reducing the amount of ewaste.
Especially with the rootkit scandal from 2005, the PSN breach from 2011, the internal employee data breach in 2023, etc
I can put the phone in lockdown by press-holding the power button and select the “lockdown” option. Not bad, but an actual reboot daily at night wouldn’t be so bad.
I wouldn’t mind having the ability to schedule a reboot on my phone as an extra precaution.
https://ghost.org/ is one of them.
I use handbrake with libaacs, libbdplus and an up-to-date keydb

With these in place, you can just read and transcode a Blu Ray like any other media.

One option would be for the big manufacturers to ignore the market and see if new players are able to thrive in such a market or not.
If the amount requested is too steep, they’ll end up with no new players and a shortage of high end phones, which is sure to piss off a portion of the population.
Of course, those that cares about fighting disinformation are leaving the platform, further concentrating the filth that prefer to hide the facts when faced with them.
Let it sink, it’s unsalvageable.
Nova is more flexible, but honestly I find that Lawnchair strikes a good balance between simplicity and customizability.
Feels somewhat close to the Pixel launcher, with icon packs support, with a couple of extra features and doesn’t belong to a company that is trying to monetize it to hell.
Kobo and Boox are better at making eReaders anyway.
I hate it because it’s just a sign of disrespect of the publisher towards the legitimate customers. Guess who has a better experience when the DRM goes to shit or slows down the game? Those who didn’t pay.
I just won’t be part of the first customers, I’ll wait for the game to be cleaned up of this bs.
I’ll just wait for it to show up DRM-free on GOG at a discount ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
