On my old android phone, I have a beautiful 24 hour clock (app and widget) which is unfortunately no longer available in the play store.
Just saying, it exists if you know how to look for it. It was Vejle, believe it or not, “24 hour clock”.
Am definitely human.

Ah, you mean like the sync that Palm OS used to have? Yup, that was neat, and I’m still waiting for Android to pick up some of the neat features from back then.
Oh that is hilarious! Just on my first listen but I don’t quite get the lyrics - am deeply disappointed that the video doesn’t have subs. 🤭
Found it on Spotify. It’s so much worse with lyrics. Thank you for sharing a version without them! 🙏
I invite you to look up the town of Baarle-Hertog/Baarle-Nassau and surrounding area. I would love to describe the area as “on the Dutch/Belgian border”, except there isn’t really much “on” going on there. Seriously, have a look and tell me I’m wrong.
Linked because I haven’t yet learnt to put screen shots in comments.
Dragging a floppy to the bin would simply eject it… 🤷 Well all right, maybe the story is from before the intro of the “Insert disk Foo”.
Seconded.
I’ve read most of folklore.org and do not recall any such story. In fact, how do you even “drag the computer to the waste basket” as the first/only icon would be the System floppy and afaik they’ve never had / still don’t have a “computer icon”. 🤔
What I am really looking for is beyond our email, it’s proper integration between calendar, contacts, and map.
I want to be able to share calendars with my family, and link contacts from certain events (birthdays, meetings, and also just meet-ups). I want those contact’s addresses to be available as navigation destinations in the mapping app. I want to be able to bookmark (“star”) map locations.
That false
constructor parameter is golden.
While you’re listing a ton of authors, for those of us (🙋) less well read it unfortunately doesn’t convey much about which styles or what content you like.
So I’m going to take a few shots in the dark here.
Have you read many online novels? I would recommend Worm (parahumans.wordpress.com) for its sheer length as well as its very different take on what a world with super powers might look like. I would also recommend Ra (qntm.org) for its very interesting approach of treating magic as an established branch of engineering. Both get sorta wild near their ends, but imho they are very well written.
For a second, I thought this was going to be about Reavers…
Yes, I’ve been on Norwegian Dvorak since 2002 or so.
Biggest problem I’ve had is with keyboards and OS’es (cough 🍎) that don’t support the Insert key, because (a) I cut my teeth on the DOS editor and (b) XCV are all over the place on this layout.
I will always use a proper full size keyboard if at all possible. Those 60% and whatnot are not for me (it’s bad enough when they move the arrow keys).
Oh, and the languages insisting on ${} characters are a pain on any non US layout.
Oh, nothing…
I wanted to come up with something unique and also fun(ny). I think this one’s a five way to give people a heads-up that I’ve no idea where I am or what I’m talking about.
Bluntly, where would Mozilla be without Google’s funding?
Gone, probably.
So while I agree that it is poisonous and there is something very wrong with Mozilla corporate structure, it is a necessary evil.
Correct, it is not.
I’ve been extremely fond of “Our Groceries” for many years. It strikes a sweet spot between features and simplicity of use, and the devs are very responsive and have added several features after my suggestions. Really the only downside right now is that it can’t use the front facing camera on my wall mounted android tablet for scanning barcodes.
Very. And he was going blind, too. I read a marvellous interview with him not too long ago, I’ll see if I can find it.
Ah, here it is: https://www.newyorker.com/tech/annals-of-technology/the-thorny-problem-of-keeping-the-internets-time
There’s the Internet archive archive. It’s being funded by all the excess donations that archive.org themselves can’t find a way to spend.

A lot of ATM cash machines run Windows 7. Yes, still.
