Yeah if they like the PS4 controller, then they’ll 100% love the DualSense.
Just play Astro’s Playroom and you’ll get it.

DualSense is the best right now IMO due to the features. If you don’t believe me, actually play Astro’s Playroom.
But I love the Steam Deck’s layout (so I guess I’d probably like the Steam Controller as well). A lot of that has to do with Steam Input being fucking awesome, but it’s also possible to get relatively good at using the touchpads as mouse, and the “touch right stick to enable gyro” is an awesome feature that has made FPS games playable on console for me.
No we don’t, we have 400+ years of capitalist history to tell us what comes next; Oligarchy, neo-feudalism…
People: Cory Doctorow didn’t invent this concept. Read a book.
It will end up being like FreeVee on Prime for anyone who’s ever watched a movie or anything on there. They straight up randomly just inject ads in at random times, often not even during scene breaks. Characters are sometimes mid-sentence… Oh, and we’re back to the volume of the ads being 2x louder than the movie itself because I guess that law Congress passed way back in the day only applied to cable and broadcast TV.
It makes it nearly unwatchable. So get ready for that experience.
Oh great. Can’t wait for Sony or something to come in and completely ruin the IP with a movie or some shit.
Man, the way that headline begins, I thought he had died.
On a macabre, but related, note: how long after Gabe’s death before Steam goes public and turns to shit? I’d give it 6 months.
Does the bird one actually work? Nature can get pretty loud, I could see that being an issue.
I think a big part of that, for me at least, is Steam Input plus the trackpads being an actually usable alternative to using a mouse to move a cursor.
Those two features have made countless games that I never imagined I’d be playing on a controller, let alone a portable device, completely playable.
Steam Input alone is such a killer feature that I rarely see people talking about. The amount of customization you can do on a game-by-game basis is actually kind of hard to believe.
Have you tried using reader mode in Firefox? Or did they fix that one? Still works for me on other sites like New York Times.
Why would anyone want a PS5 with coax? I don’t understand… Are you using a 30 year old TV?
I switched my laptop EndeavorOS in 2023. Windows 11 was the last straw. Terrible OS.
I’m not sure… I don’t think so? I use HDMI.
I watch DVDs on mine all the time, including Blu-ray and 4k Blu-ray.
Same. Not only that, but you can play the better quality, 60fps versions on your Steam Deck if you use Chiaki and play the PS5 remotely.
Dunno if anyone has mentioned it yet, but it’s relatively easy to set up Chiaki on the Deck to remote play PS5 games.
A true agent of chaos
I had to tinker with settings a bit, and don’t recall exactly what I had to do. I remember it being glitchy, and I was able to get rid of it with one of the graphics options. I’m using Chiaki4Deck, which is a fork of Chiaki specifically made for Steam Deck, in case we’re talking about different settings.
One thing that possibly rings a bell is the window behind the game (the Chiaki app where you pick a console) is still open in the background which could cause flashing and glitching. Have you tried running it in Desktop mode?
Also, sometimes it doesn’t connect and the only way to get it to try again is by resetting the PS5. Once it’s connected, it works fine.
Been using Chiaki on my Steam Deck for a while now. Portable Bloodborne was great.
Dual Sense also has adaptive triggers which are awesome, and probably the best haptics I’ve felt in a controller.
The D-pad on the Switch Pro Controller is hot garbage. Unless they changed it.
