February and August are so rare that it was blatant election fuckery when my state had a ballot initiative vote last august
Fellow Ohioan spotted?

We’ve been making this argument for the last 3+ years, my dude.
No one who is saying all of this now was silent the last few years. I’ve personally been donating to, campaigning for, and bolstering the messaging of non-Mainstream-Dem candidates since I became disillusioned with Obama in my mid 20s. It’s not our fault y’all have been fucking ignoring us.
Asexual people don’t exist in MAGALand, silly!
I mean, how about my boring example from work the other day? I wanted to double check whether priority mail had guaranteed delivery timeframes before telling a customer that they did not and if she needed something by a specific day she should use UPS. When I searched “is priority mail delivery date guaranteed”, the first real answer, from USPS’s website, was a resounding no, just like I thought. Guess what Google’s AI told me? “Priority mail is a guaranteed service, so you can choose it knowing that your package will be delivered on the projected date.”
It’s fucking stupid. It’s wrong. It should not be at the top of search results.
Nope. Plenty of places in the midwest only carry unsweet and “flavored”, not regular sweet tea. The flavor is usually extra sweet fruit flavored syrup like raspberry or peach.
It wasn’t “delayed”, it was temporarily waived. The function was there on launch and had the game not blown up it would have remained, and anyone not in psn regions would have simply refunded the game enthusiasts they learned of the requirement. Instead, because it got so big, the PSN linking was a part of what caused the really terrible server issues early on and so it was disabled. I don’t have easy access to the messages but some of the CMs and the CEO both confirmed this - I think someone shared the messages a few days ago here on c/helldivers2.
Regarding difficulty - on lower difficulties it’ll take longer to earn up the medals (though the major order rewards definitely help there) but I actually think it’s faster to farm super credits on the easiest 3 difficulties.
Order online! TenRen Teas has the best tea, imo, while Adagio has mid to high quality at a decent price and a wide variety of types and flavors.
I dunno, I feel like it’s mostly just people being people. We have a truck and a sporty little hatchback and people are just as apt to drive like assholes around both cars, despite my husband and I both also being the “drive just enough above the speed limit that we probably won’t get a ticket” drivers, and otherwise adhering almost exactly to road laws the way only mildly obsessive neurodivergents can. I think people either just don’t know road laws or don’t care about them and get pissed when other people do and “impede” their oh-so-important trip.
That’s a lot of words to say “I don’t actually understand how technology works”.
Oh, it’s very easy to understand. They’re worried their tax dollars might help someone who “doesn’t deserve it”, so they’d rather not help anyone.
“Improved” is the wrong word, in my opinion. It’s not that the tea is made better with the addition of milk, it’s just that it’s good in a different way. I drink my tea straight at work, no additions. But on a Saturday morning, with flapjacks and bacon, a lavender earl grey with a hint of sugar and a small splash of cream is just. Mmm. The cream can mute some of the stronger flavor profiles and allow some of the more subtle ones to shine. I love it both ways, neither is better than the other. They’re just different good.
Most Americans don’t get kettles with temp settings because we’re fucking plebs. Ask an American what they think a kettle is and 7 times out of 10 they’ll say it’s a busted, dented piece of metal with a strange flippy lid that their mom used to put on the stovetop for some reason.
I mean, I’m not. I have one with 6 different temps on it. Because tea is serious business. But most Americans, you know. 😂
They got worse recently, too, at least locally. You can’t even turn off the insistent voice anymore, so now I have to hear it repeat “please scan your next item and place it in the bag” a dozen times, usually cut off because it takes longer for the damn machine to say that than it does for me to actually scan shit. And now they’ve added cameras which get easily confused if you, like me, usually just hold your few items in your hands while you’re scanning, thinking you’re trying to “dupe” the scanner.
Damn, this is helpful. I (ops manager) just manually delete these as I see them, but I don’t always get to all of them in the main company inbox before the owner sees them and I sometimes have to field questions about “are you sure our SEO is good?” I’m going to set this up, lol.
Firefox mobile now has a full suite of extensions, including old reddit redirect to bypass all that bs. It’s the only way I access reddit anymore for answers/the last few niche communities that haven’t been built up on lemmy yet.
A perpetual license doesn’t mean the company supports it forever; you know that, right? I have a copy of Quickbooks 2015 that I got the license key for from a closing company for about $25. I will never have to pay another dime for it, it’s a perpetual license and will run indefinitely. I just don’t get any updates at all, and I can’t run anything that requires updates or subscriptions like payroll or advanced features. But that’s absolutely fine for my purposes and works the same for many, many people. This is how things should be - if I’m fine with using an outdated version, there is zero reason I need a subscription license.
