So, if I grab an item off the shelf and browse around the store for a while, is the price going to be the price currently displayed or the price when I grabbed it?
If it’s the current price, what’s the point of a price tag? If I can’t actually know the price until checkout, then showing me the price is kind of a useless bit of data. I also suspect that the “speak to a manager” types would make that a major headache for stores.
If it’s the price when I grabbed it, how are they keeping track of that? I see two ways of handling that: one requires that you use their app to shop, and the other requires cameras and “machine vision” that are still unreliable, at best. The former seems more likely, but I doubt either is going to sit well with customers.
Edit: someone pointed out that it might not actually display a price, and you’d have to scan it to get your price. Kind of like the first option, but I think it’s going to turn off less tech savvy customers.
I haven’t seen that aspect addressed in any articles about the “feature”.

That’s the Mildly Infuriating part, right?
As far as I can tell from the ridiculously tiny thumbnail I have cached, it’s a screenshot of this post about renaming billionaires to “wealth-hoarders”, followed by a post about a news article regarding starving children as a result of war-induced famine in Gaza.
There was a period of a few years where I did not have insurance. I’m a pretty healthy person, so I figured the risk was acceptable. The few times I did need to go to the doctor, when I told them I did not have insurance and would be paying out of pocket, they adjusted the prices for me automatically.
I thought it was ridiculous, even then, but I wasn’t going to complain about getting a reasonable price, obviously.

You can still get a USB-C dongle that supports charging and audio at the same time. It sucks that they make you do it, but I’m glad it’s still an option.
can’t even subtract from a timer (it can add, though!)
“Ok, Google, add -5 minutes to the timer”
It either explodes, or you start getting notifications in the past. Seems like a possible win, either way.
Is there a reason people aren’t just linking directly to the comic page? I’m sure the artist would appreciate it.
Not just physical mail. The letter had to have the serial numbers of all devices associated with your account.
Sure, let me go digging behind my TV with all of my free time so that I can give you information you already have, dicks.
TL;DW: The Nissan privacy policy states stated that they can collect and store information about your sexual activity for some reason.
Note: the page seems to have been updated to remove that wording, but you can see it archived on the Way Back Machine from when the video was released.

Is this a secret menu item? Do I ask for combo #420 or something?
Thanks for that…
That’s interesting! TIL, thanks!
We’re old nerds.
The headline made me think I must be missing something. It’s not weird to me that games look better/more realistic over time. That’s the progression of technology.
So I watched the video, and… if I was missing something in the headline, I missed it in the video, too. I want my 6 minutes back, please.
I don’t see how her choice to decline the invitation would affect her career. Not going seems like a non-issue that will barely even enter public discourse.
If she had gone and protested, she might have been dropped by her label (I don’t know how progressive Island Records is). Even then, the “no such thing as bad press” axiom might have worked in her favor. It seems like her fan base is pretty fervent, meaning she would likely be attractive to another label.
