Just griping a bit about what’s probably more of a design/branding change than anything.
I think fakespot is promising tech that we desperately need more of.
Can’t hurt to have it in their hands, hope to see more server resources ;-)

Sorry… busy day and I’m going to need a real computer for this 😅
RE Free… nothing really, just being bitter. I’m not a huge fan of a lot of the little tie-ins like Pocket, but I respect the hustle… if not the business plan.
The Amazon review thing they bought is Fakespot™, check it out if you shop on Amazon. Here the Ai nonsense is just some summaries of the reviews it digested… not inherently bad, but the whole experience is painfully slow. Still. Well worth checking out if you haven’t.
Shady dude gets a 📌 for now. Sorry. Time.
If you check out Fakespot you can’t miss it. Have yet to try the browser integration, although I have enabled it for some reason…
You gotta love that there are benchmark for that… The company that can’t even get free, right.
I really like their Amazon reviews thing that they bought… I bet the shady dude that had all the fucking people finder sites was in charge of that cause it’s got the same kind of fucking cheesy-graphic-load-screen… basically, the only functional piece of software they had at that point cause they hadn’t touched it, and then they went an AIed it up…
Here’s a new idea, why doesn’t everybody in the fediverse post their favorite privacy enhanced Firefox rebrand:
Yeah, probably I’m pretty bad at spelling stuff ☺️
My dudes… Dr. Strange is my new neighbor!
She’s a veteran… but I’m kind of an animal so I figure it should be OK 😎
Also; 2 cats, one of which is definitely smarter than the average bear… the other, is orange.
Hopefully a few thousand of them were the ones responsible for making the website dog shit 😅
Comeon 0.0001%! Let’s get those last 5 people who know what an extension is but were holding out for…???
Yeah… These articles are like reading the tally marks on a prison wall. Let it go.
Is there an award for the most British headline?
It’s nice to know a bit of light exercise is beneficial for some folks. I suppose my definition of chronic pain is probably a bit limited.
Yeah… this shit’s killing me. If walking improves your “chronic pain” you were just lazy and out of shape 🤣
The return of the Disney vaults… I admit I’m concerned, but I’ve watched so much soulless bullshit at quality levels that do nothing but make the flaws easier to see… it’s not as much of a concern as it used to be. We’re whitnessing a spasm, it’ll pass. Good content comes from people that give actual fucks about what they are creating. They will always want you to experience the best version you can.
I’m not even sure how long MQA took, but the audio world came around and developed a lossless format that runs on commodity hardware and features a wide selection of popular… sound.
Yeah, we’re boned.
It’s definitely nice to have exactly the copy you want. Plus (and decidedly more on topic) you can rip any extras you want… although the naming scheme is a bit of a headache, that’s the part that really delights me.
Good news! You can pirate high quality blueray rips from the internet and since you already own a license to the content it’s not even a crime ;-)
That was my take on it too. The vague sense that you’re just going to end up with nothing but circle-jerks if you implement all these suggestions. I could also just be whooshing an attempt a levity, something obvious to a seasoned community moderator.
Hopefully my shitty attempts at socratic method rate a bit better then trolling, but I often doubt it :-)
People who downvote more than upvote tend to be the ones who get in fights a lot and say snarky, inflammatory and negative things.
Summed up my whole sense of humor in half a throwaway sentence ;-)
Seriously though, interesting read, thank you kux… you can really feel the author’s frustration and yet I can’t help but feel that they are interested in a certain kind of idealistic online community. Reddit but with a really restrictive HOA where everyone has the exact same color mailbox.
Didn’t know that was possible 😎
First time I’ve heard that expression and I love it :-)
I’ve only recently become aware of the issue and that’s the way it feels.
But in the absence of a definitive test I think folks are concerned that they will be stuck with a CPU that continues to degrade prematurely. That seems like a valid concern.
It’s easier to ingest than the way I speak ;-)
