Honestly Lemmy has been way better for me for my phone habits. Just enough content but not too much

ChatGPT doesn’t actually do calculations. It can generate code that will actually calculate the answer, or provide a formula, but ChatGPT cannot do math.
I’ve only really found it useful when you provide the source of information/data to your prompt. E.g. say you want to convert one data format to another like table data into JSON
It works very consistently in those types of use cases. Otherwise it’s a dice roll.

stratoscaster@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•T-Mobile, AT&T oppose unlocking rule, claim locked phones are good for usersEnglish51·9 months agoWhy does that even matter? Currently, if you have a locked phone and switch carriers, you have to buy an entirely new phone anyways.
At least this way, a user can pay once, and then hop around carriers depending on what’s cheap.
Also there’s no shot that locking users to phones costs that much because the unlocked version of a phone is only like 15-20% more expensive. Since when did you ever get a 70% discount on the MSRP of a phone for buying it locked??? They’re straight ass lying lmao

One of my friends moved to Europe for work and I haven’t been able to hang out with him since. Timezones suck lol

But that’s your decision, and other people are allowed to be upset that they have to do so, and still want to play the game and just deal with the bullshit foisted on them by corporations.
I’m honestly shocked that someone hasn’t gone the black market APK route of analyzing the protocols heuristically and then releasing an APK with those protocols on torrent/deep web. Obviously, that’s insanely more risky and error prone, but you would find out pretty quick if freestyle modified their protocols, and could patch it within a week or two (maybe). I really wish I was more low-level hardware skilled to know better, or even lend a hand.
I just make shitty SaaS software for a living, what do I know lol
Jesus Christ that sucks nuts… Hopefully in the future the situation improves. Iirc this technology is still early and companies are incompetent

stratoscaster@lemmy.worldto Technology@lemmy.world•Google lays off hundreds of 'Core' employees, moves some positions to India and MexicoEnglish2·1 year agoI feel like it’s more ethnocentric than racist, which is a bit less bad. Some developers have had negative experiences with offshore talent. I’ve personally had mixed experiences, and some of that comes down to communication issues and experience issues. Sometimes you get an offshore developer who is really skilled, but generally the very skilled developers get their work visa and come to the US.
You also get absolutely garbage developers in the states, but of course nobody ever mentions that. Lol
Wow thank you for sharing. Very interesting story.
