Lol, it’s rated PEGI 18 on Google Play Store. Looks like poker, must be gambling, right ?

Bring your calculator to the Spanish exam. Trust me, this plan is flawless.
I am curious to see the next series from AMD. I am wishing for a new gaming rig for about a year now. I was really considering getting the 7900XT/XTX. If the mid-range for the next gen is performing well, that might just do it.
I am tempted to compare the market of handheld PC to this of Single Board Computers.
You have on one hand the Raspberry Pi and steamdeck: first successful on a niche market, develop the hardware and the software to deliver a complete experience, open and hackable.
On the other hand, you have all the followers, throwing out some random imitations, with better spec. sheets, but no Software support, or just the bare minimum and ultimately the experience offered isn’t a match.
How are they hoping to compete with the steamdeck if none of them put in the effort to develop a complete and functional user experience? Acer and Asus with collect the scraps and nothing more.
Out of all the marketing letters (E, G, I, R, T and X) X is definitely the betterest!
That’s 50% more Xs ! You can beat this deal !
It’s it the same problem tho? Xbox S/X can also target different graphics (resolution, frame rate, quality) but feature parity is required.
Would anyone be ok with, for example, split screen multiplayer mode available only on PS5 Pro, but not on PS5 nor PS5 slim?
I don’t understand why they would release a PS5 Pro. For the PS4 / Xbox One generation, it was somewhat justified because 4K TV became widely available and desirable shortly after the release of this generation, making the consoles almost obsolete.
This time around, I don’t see the performance of theses consoles as a big problem. Interest has declined because prices of consoles and games are high, and there are not that many exiting games to play on them.
Making a more powerful variant has some disadvantages too, making game development more complex to support all variants. Microsoft has already suffered from this strategy with the Xbox series X/S.l, e.g:with BG3 local multiplayer
On Linux, for sure. But OP hasn’t mentioned using Linux, I suppose they use Windows. I don’t think AMD offers an Open-source driver for Windows.
Nothing wrong with beehaw as far as I know, but a while ago they defederated lemmy.world because the instance is to big and not moderated enough, or something like that.
Watchtower took care of that for me 👍
There’s also updated music for the games by Andrew Hulshult (who worked on the music for Doom Eternal: The Ancient Gods DLC)
That’s nice! This explains that: 11 Years in the making…IDKFA (DOOM + DOOM II) is now official / @AndrewHulshultOfficial / YouTube.com
I was not successful running Solidworks under Linux and it even detects when it is running in a virtual machine and refuses to install completely!
Finally I have found an alternative that suits my needs, that has free account for hobby purposes: on-shape.com it’s web-based, works flawlessly under Linux and Firefox. Workflow is very similar to Solidworks, and version-control is simple and nice.
Isn’t GitHub already blocked in China?
I know there are already a number of extensions specified in the specifications, such that Risc-V could be relevant to design the simplest of microcontroller up to the most powerful super computer. I suppose it is possible and allowed to design a CPU with proprietary extensions. What should prevent an ARM type of situation is the fact that so many use-cases are already covered by the open specifications. What is not there yet, to my knowledge, are things like graphics, video, neural-net acceleration.
Yes, I admit it’s still a pretty complex explanation. I gave it my best shot :)
RISC-V (pronounced risk five), is a Free open-source Instruction Set Architecture (ISA). Other well established ISA like x86, amd64 (Intel and AMD) and ARM, are proprietary and therefore, one must pay every expensive licenses to design and build a processor using these architectures. You don’t need to pay a license to build a RISC-V processor, you only need to follow the specifications. That doesn’t mean the CPU design is also free, no, they stay very much the closed property of the designer, but RISC-V represents non the less, a very big step towards more transparency and technology freedom.
There is a playable demo available: UNBEATABLE [white label] / Steam Store
Do not expect this thing to be a daily driver. It’s aimed at developers who need a Risc-V testing platform. Very few Software will run on it unless you can spend hours making it compile for Risk-V and lets not talk about drivers. Also it will likely cost over $1000.
I am exited for the future of Risc-V in the consumer space, but we aren’t there yet.
I bet. This seems rather stupid to rate this game 18+.
