ER uses anti-cheat…

The base game already had some pretty badly designed fights that rely on deceptive animations and timing for their difficulty, and the DLC really triples down on that. The more games they make the more bullshit the fights get. I like a challenging fight, but when you have to die to a boss 20-30 times just to see all of their attacks, and the attacks are designed to not be legible the first time you see them… It’s just not very fun game design. I think FROM is a victim of their own success and this is the inevitable result of constantly trying to one-up the last hardest flight in the series. At a certain point it stops being rewarding and just becomes a grind.

For me Doom 2016 was a hugely more enjoyable experience than Eternal. 2016 is arguably one of the greatest linear single player shooters ever made. Eternal felt like a chore once you had all the tools unlocked and I lost interest shortly after. I could have lowered the difficulty so weapon selection didn’t matter, but that was clearly not the design intent.

Ultrakill does the “swap between weapons quickly for interesting combos” much better IMO – it’s not necessary but it’s a value add and it’s super fun to pull off.

Please copy dota instead of league… Dota actually has a coherent design philosophy and creative devs who know how to balance a game, league is just designed around what monetizes the community most effectively.

GitHub (since the Microsoft acquisition) is good to users because that’s their MO, it’s called Embrace, Extend, Extinguish, and the whole point is to centralize users and projects and make them dependent on the Microsoft ecosystem.

Of course now there’s also the whole issue of Copilot, which means any code you put on GitHub could very well show up piecemeal in someone’s AI-generated code. If it wasn’t for that novel avenue of monetization, you can bet your ass GitHub would have already made the free user experience a lot shittier.

Sorry, if you remove my ability to interact with posts through the all feed, I will stop using this site. With how little content exists on this platform, there’s little point in curating a feed. You either visit a specific community for specific information, or you browse all. It would just be an annoyance anyway, akin to the awful reddit “no-participation link”. These measures do absolutely nothing to stop bad faith actors and only serve to annoy normal users and push them away from the site.

Maybe you should tell us why?

Stop using GitHub. Especially if you’re working on anything that corpo interests will frown on, but just generally, there are plenty of alternatives (both git and non-git) that aren’t owned by Microsoft.

I find the game in general pretty mid. I’d rather play DRG 100% of the time.

Satisfactory is pretty amazing. I won’t claim it’s better but that margin is not as big as you’re making it sound.

Fedora is a great first distro! I do recommend looking at the GNOME ui, as it’s what Fedora (and vanilla Ubuntu) use; I really like GNOME but it’s not for everyone as it’s pretty opinionated and innovative. Linux Mint is another popular choice for newcomers, it uses a very simple UI that will be very familiar to any Windows user.

I still don’t see a single actual advantage of W11 over 10. The OS drains more system resources so it’s less performant, and every other “feature” I’ve seen looks like a double edged sword at best, or an anti-feature at worst.

The mobile app is great.

I literally don’t know what people who say this mean. It looks totally modern, almost identical to the chrome and edge UIs, it’s fully customizable, and there are thousands of extensions to alter the appearance in a single click, not to mention custom css styling if you want complete control.

How is the mobile app terrible? I’ve been using it for years with no issues, and it has many extensions that chrome on Android doesn’t allow like adblocking.

The tabs in FF are great, for years now FF has been much better at handing huge accounts of passive tabs, and there are tons of extensions to provide any functionality you could want.

I guarantee you if you just install a few extensions that you like and use it for a week you won’t even notice any more.

Stuff should be free. We live in an age where every one of us could be living a life of comfort and reasonable luxury with a modicum of work. In the meantime those of us who aren’t being showered by the excesses of capitalism are fully entitled to stand in the splashes.

Every device with extra swappable batteries that I’ve used has a charging station that you can just keep the extra battery in. Not really anything to “manage”, it just effectively removes charging time from the equation.

If it’s not obvious, I agree that climate change is definitely real and human-caused; my point is that the prompt in the OP explicitly says to deny climate change, and that is not what the AI did with my prompt.

I tried asking it about climate change and gender identity and got totally unremarkable politically “neutral” corpo-speak, equivalent to ChatGPT or Bard. If this is the initial prompt it’s not having much effect lol
