Neo launcher does that
A friend of mine and I put this together a few years ago. I hope yall find it helpful:
#!/usr/bin/env bash
download_roms(){
for ((i=$1; i<=$2; i++)); do
cd "$HOME/retroarch"

done
}

Agreed. Yet to find a true replacement
It really kicks the llama’s ass
Those answers were given in good faith under the presumption that they would be read and used by another person. Not used to train something to remove the interactions which motivated the answer in the first place.
Hopefully spamming 0 or constantly yelling operator will still get you one of the very few people that still work there
This is what you’d look for on arch https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/AMDGPU_PRO
Can you ls that directory to see if it is there? If not there are proprietary pro drivers you can install
Try putting this under launch options:
VK_ICD_FILENAMES=/usr/share/vulkan/icd.d/radeon_icd.x86_64.json %command%
You’ll need to check from to terminal to see if it is there or if it is something similar
This post on protondb also helped:

If neither of those helps, I can dig a bit more in my notes
My in game settings: Game Window: Exclusive Fullscreen Resolution: 1920x1080 Gameplay Resolution Scale: 100% Image Quality: High HDR: Off Animation Quality: High Shadow Quality: High Ambient Occlusion: High Texture Detail: High Geometry Detail: Maximum Physics: High Vertical Sync: On Framerate Limit: Unlimited Movie Quality: 1080p
IIRCC Gameplay Resolution Scale fixed the problem for me
GE installed separately (at least on Arch)
I got you! I’m on my phone, but I’ll send some stuff when I’m back at my computer (Which will be after dinner and a Drongo nap)
Take it on good faith that I won’t bible beat you. I’m genuinely curious. What are things about windows that are ‘far from perfect’ as you put it? What would you do to change them, and if you could wave a magic wand and change whatever you want, what would you change?
That’s not an apt comparison
You could probably install linux bare metal on your computer, and daily drive windows 7 in a vm. Good luck getting compatible software anymore, but if you can, create an image and you are set for the foreseeable future
If it is like mine, it’s the update itself. It says something like hardware not supported and gives you a big ol’ Fuck You
You’d need a massive increase in tech support. Likely more than you’d spend on ms in the first place. Seems a political gambit or a political gaff.
There are some gaps in the numbers. That could be the case. Was it for all of the ones you tried to download?
