How can I stop alt-text from showing over images? Is there a setting I’m not noticing?
Example:
Wait wait, I can help with this one! I’m on iOS, but should be similar. Settings > Appearance > Posts and then turn off Show Text Preview

Unfortunately that doesn’t seem to have solved the issue.
For additional context, this text appears when clicking and expanding the image, not in my feed. Usually it’s unintrusive, but if the image is large the text overlaps. It’s always either alt-text describing the image for accessibility, or just the title of the post. It’s not the text content of the post itself.

Looks like its coming soon: https://github.com/thunder-app/thunder/issues/1963
I made the same request a week ago, and finally got around to making a GitHub issue for it:
Yeah would love to know how to remove that too. It’s driving me nuts.
Same with these annoying little floaty up and down buttons when I’m reading comments. I don’t need these they just get in the way.

Floating Action Button > turn off Enable… for Posts or Tweak to how you want it to act

Yep tried that before and it is still there even when the toggle is gray and inactive. Seems to work to disable it on feeds but doesn’t work when reading comments in a post. Might be a bug :<
Had to dig out an old tablet, but yeah Android is different here maybe? And I think someone answered below too. Whomp whomp

Hey there! To completely disable the bottom navigation pill, you’ll also have to turn off comment navigator in the settings. Here’s a quick link to that setting: Thunder Setting: General > Comments > Enable Comment Navigation
Let me know if that disables the bottom pill completely!
Oh awesome that did the trick!! Thank you :D
