It depends greatly on the care taken, of course, but im 16-17 years of using a smartphone I’m pretty sure I’ve never had a scratched screen. I’ve cracked a couple, but never scratched one. A scratched screen would warrant replacement under a refurb program, too, I would think?
The oleophobic coating would be a greater concern, to me, as a screen that attracts fingerprints can be annoying.
When I bought the 8 Pro I went caseless, no screen protector, and no sleeve. The screen was pretty scratched after 4/5 months. Then I dropped it on concrete and put a skin and screen protector on the replacement, and travelling with a sleeve.
I’m going caseless with my 10 Pro but I’ve put a screen protector on.
I’m always too worried about screen scratches to go with a refurb.
