I feel this doesn’t really affect many people.
MV2 has been disabled for quite some time now, and anybody left using Chrome has either installed uBlock Origin Lite or at this point just likes the adverts.

VPN getting set to Germany if that happens.

You only get in trouble if you mislead rich investors.
If you mislead poor investors, then that’s just business and they should have known better.

I don’t understand why they’re building all this infrastructure in the USA.
Surely this is one of the most expensive places in the world to build, staff, maintain, and power a large AI data centre?

If they want people addicted to an AI, it’s going to have to be a lot better than fucking Copilot.
As slop generators go, it’s about the sloppiest.

Yes, but before Valve you had a lot more choice, because you could buy things in actual shops. I didn’t have to wait until the handful of predetermined “sale weeks” a year to actually get games at budget prices.
And it’s not just Valve, but if they ever go public or bust, you’ll all wonder how you were ever fooled for so long.

TFW The Blues Brothers sneaks into your training data.

Pretty much all story heavy games are like this now, and have been for some time.
Uncharted 4 was like 2 hours in before you even got to shoot anyone.

Oh god, now I can look forward to an entire game of her name being pronounced wrong.
The really need to hire an Icelandic person for like an hour. Even though I don’t speak Icelandic, it’s agonising.

Got to love it just for a giant robot fight to The Touch, or Roddy Piper fighting Keith David. Or the Biz Markie singalong.

Gravy Seals need not apply

And then it tells you what was in the cinema at the point the AI was trained.

Scary to think what the actually enshittified version will be like…

Sounds faulty

“Oh my goodness, this is a nightmare” typed everyone into their government approved location recording devices that can show them cats and boobs.

I suspect it doesn’t matter too much on joypad controlled games either.
Mouse aiming and especially VR are more likely to feel the difference between real and fake frames.

It should be noted that the real reason gamers want better framerates is so you get a faster response between you making an input and the game doing something.
Frame generation turning 30 fps into 120 fps may well make things look smooth to an observer, but they’ll still play like a PS4 game in treacle.

I don’t think they care about any of this.
They’re selling to AI slop centres faster than they can make them. Gamers don’t fit into their plans at all.
Why state owned, when they can have privately owned and just funnel your tax money right into it, then retire to take up cushy “consultancy” positions on the board?
