According to Dave2D’s review, RAM is upgradeable, and GPU has dedicated VRAM.

Dave2D mentioned that Valve said it isn’t aiming to directly compete with consoles, but rather sff PCs. So the price will likely be in the $700-900 range(?)

PC Gaming@lemmy.ca•Windows Games’ Compatibility on Linux Is at an All-Time HighEnglish
4·27 days agoFor every game that breaks compatibility due to anti-cheat there’s 100s more new games that don’t have it and probably run on Linux just fine. So on average, the compatibility always goes up.

4·28 days agoThere’s usually not enough interesting things happening on the screen to maintain a child’s attention, it’s mostly just conversations. They might look at the screen occasionally but are unlikely to pay much attention.
Source: was children at some point, maybe.

5·1 month agoI mean, just because it happens fast or in an unnoticeable way doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. If somebody vaporized themselves instantly it’s still suicide. Sure, people would probably accept the fact that their original is being killed for convenience, but the fact stays.

9·1 month agoBecause technically, it’s a scanner + printer and not a mover. It’s just that the original is deliberately destroyed every time (unless something goes wrong *looks at Miles*).
IIRC, it’s even mentioned that people going through the transporter are cached. Like, they store snapshots, so you can compare the changes between older you and newer you. You can also store a person in buffer digitally, meaning you can copy and print as many as you want.

Games@lemmy.world•GOG: We’re thrilled to announce that the Crysis Remastered Trilogy has joined our catalog, and the original Crysis is now part of the GOG Preservation Program!English
8·2 months agoI wasn’t talking about LAN but playing online on public servers. And I wasn’t saying it as a bad thing, just tempering expectations. Iirc, you have to patch the game, then create an account for the GameSpy replacement. There were some stability issues, too, but if you find a decent server it was ok.
But after all of that the main issue was, of course, lack of players.

21·2 months agoWarhead was like Crysis 1.5, actually. But I have tried playing the original Crysis online a couple years ago and it’s possible. Not super convenient, but possible.
For music something like Navidrome is much better, IMO. But you could easily host it in addition to the former two, not instead.
Oh, and you can combine the subscription to Tidal with yar har by umm… permanently caching the songs offline by means of 3rd party tools. It might seem pointless at first glance, but having the music stored on your server ensures you’ll keep having it, while you still can spontaneously explore new stuff on Tidal.
This seems NSFW, but I’m unsure why.
