I dont think it will be out of date anytime soon. Once you reach the realization AAA games are just lazy copy pastes of old AAA games, you also realize older AAA games run just fine on deck. Games that maxed out pre rtx cards run great on a deck, which is fucking insane considering they required cards as big as steam deck. The performance is mind boggling on the deck. If you want to play aaa slop on max settings with raytracing, Id say you need to wait for gen 2 which would be better at it considering graphics have practically stopped evolving.

The main points my friends brought out is “How are the games not going to be killed? “Just like make them available” is not an answer. Are they companies now forced to run the games always for eternity on their servers or do expensive reworks that may not even be possible to make them singleplayer or are hosting game servers banned now???”

I went to 2k 100hz uw from 1080p 144hz. I stopped noticing the increased framerate pretty quickly as the “mouse so smooth” effects wear off fast. But the ultrawide huge fov is a massive plus. I don’t notice the resolution increase at all beyond lower frames and more text on screen in docs.

Laptops 4k is just 1080p with extra battery drain and worse performance.

Yes its pointless, most noticable is the low frame rate and lowered graphics to make the game playable. High fps is more noticable and useful. Blind tests confirmed that, even the one ltt did.

2k could be argued is solid but even then the ppi is so dense already it does not really matter.

Edit: then again there is some research showing people preceive fps and ppindifferently so it may be 4k makes sense for some while for others its really overpriced 2k that no pc can run.

You pay ton more money for a screen thats ppi is too dense to matter only to to pay ton more money for a pc to still run it at terrible framerate with lowered settings and fake frames.

4k is a pure scam.

Happy with my used 4070ti super i paid 150 for after trading in my 2080ti. There is nothing to use your gpu on unless youre a kid and haven’t seen the pattern of every aaa game bring literally the same game every year.

And still have your house burn down due to it just being a 2080 that has 9.8 jiggawats pushed into it.

There isn’t a single reason to get any of the 5 series imo, they don’t offer anything. And i say that as a 3d artist for games.

Edit: nevermind i remember some idiots got roped into 4k for gaming and are now paying the price like marketing wanted them to.

Tried it briefly, seems nice but couldn’t find snapping, setting certain lenghts and other must haves.

Freecad. Turn on snapping and use the the helper. Seems like every new move requires a sketch rather than autocads sketch it all and then do 3d operations.

Its cause absolute idiots keep preordering/day1 purchasing digital products at full price.

It also wasn’t up to the obsidian standards we come to expect.

But then again i understand not being able to realise it was not a well written or designed game as a large chunk of people think starfield wasn’t that bad.
