2·2 days agoThank you for such a long writeup to my simple question. I would definitely love to selfhost my own little lemmy instance someday in the future. It never made sense to me that this place was automatically better when it’s just technically someone else’s servers.
So the way things already were?
Genuine question but how can we trust our respective lemmy instance to not be as corrupt?

4·7 days agoI had an omen laptop with a 2060 and it was alright. I wanted better performance on a 1440p monitor so I sold it for a desktop build.

That’s amazing. I want to have that kind of relationship with my future kids/nieces/nephews.
Bruh I don’t even have a kid yet. Also, this could be for peace of mind if the kid is in a position where they can’t ask for help from someone else.

A smartwatch seems like an interesting way to keep in touch with your kid/keep track of them. I guess it could be abused like anything else though.

And you can use the jellyamp app if you are on Android as well. Make sure to join the beta for a better UI
Am I crazy or were the shadows ghosting? It’s crazy that people want ray tracing when it is such a performance hit for blurry visuals.
