I’m not happy with Honor and I will not buy another one. So much bloat, crap that connects to chinese servers and can’t be uninstalled or even disabled.
So the Chinese Samsung.
I really like Doogee phones, I just wish they didn’t have such a silly name.
First time I’ve heard of this brand.
8GB RAM, 256GB storage, big screen for ~€250 where I live. The CPU looks very weak, but acceptable for €250 price.
The brand name doesn’t work that well, although it sounds worse in English than in other languages IMO.
Those are rookie numbers, there’s a Kickstarter project phone - Oukitel WP100 Titan: 33,000mAh
Damn, is that even legal to take on a plane?
Depends on the voltage, the max for planes is 100Wh
I’ll make a Kickstarter with a 100,000 mAh battery, why not
Go for it, it’ll be the size of a brick but will only need charging every 18 months
On my Kickstarter it won’t be. The point is Kickstarter can promise anything
At some point I’d rather just carry a power bank when I go camping or something instead of carrying a huge phone daily
Aren’t large phones somewhat popular hence the iphone plus sizes and whatnot?
I’ve never tested this hypothesis, but I would guess that a big-ass battery would remain useful after years of wear while a normal battery would need to be almost constantly plugged in. It’s one thing to plug in a power bank now and then, but if it effectively becomes a wired device that’s too much of a pain.
I’ve bought a phone following this theory.
After 3 years, the USB port wore out and didn’t charge anymore. And after 4, the phone got concerningly hot during wireless charging.
So yeah, the battery lasts longer, but phones aren’t designed for a long life in general.I still have phones whose USB ports were not toast or did not get hot while charging. But, they do drop down in not being able to hold a charge. I guess it depends on usage and the OEM in question.
I don’t know about all manufacturers but Sony and I think Samsung both allow you to limit max state of charge to 80%, I just hit 3 years on my device consistently using that feature, and haven’t seen much degradation yet.
I believe OnePlus Motorola and now Google support 80% limit charging. Sony’s is more In-Depth, .
Sony’s is more In-Depth, .
In what manner?
I know Sony had originally contributed the battery saver to AOSP since that was not standard back then.
Yeah a 75wh battery pack is plenty for a week of camping. And it saves carrying the weight daily.
My current phone has a 10,600mah battery already…
Whoa! I have a OnePlus with 6000ma and was strutting, thats ridiculous.
It also has thermal imaging capability. 😜
What do you have?
Ulefone Armor 27T
Can you use your phone as a boat anchor?
It’s IP67 rated. In theory I could, and still have a functional phone.
Can you use your phone as a power bank?
I’m not sure about as a power bank. It can do reverse wireless charging (QI) however.
I actually use it almost entirely wirelessly now. It’s a faff to open the waterproof cover on the usb C each night.
I’ve fallen onto wireless charging, too. I got a cheapo disc deally that’s next to my bed. And then got a car that had a wireless charger. It makes it easier when I’m changing music to not have to deal with a charge cord. The fact that it warms up when it’s charging makes me think it’s less efficient that a cord, tho’.
My phone has an insane battery. I only have to charge it every couple of days, even when using android auto (via wireless adapter). My charger also includes a cooling fan, and can push 30W. It’s not as efficient, but it’s damn convenient.
I want a 20000mah power bank with wireless charging capabilities. Is it that hard to make?
Unihertz tank series.
I could not find anything online. Can you share the product listing page?
https://www.unihertz.com/products/tank
22000 mAh
That’s a smartphone. I mentioned powerbank.
The powerbank comes with some minor smartphone functionality as a bonus.
