These are apparently called “Desire Paths”

I’ve wondered about a sort of fantasy story with all the hallmarks of science-fiction. Maybe a wizard grapples with the ethical problems that a new spell would unleash if he were to use it. He could end famine for all time for his people, but maybe it makes every other land in the surrounding area inhospitable to life. Or something along those lines where a new “tech” will cause a major disruption with moral/ethical dilemmas, it’s just that the “tech” is some sort of magical device or spell, something very fantasy-based. Everything would take place in a medieval era, nothing high-tech at all, but the whole thing is structured like a sci-fi story. After all, medieval tech is still “high-tech” depending on your temporal point of view.
Red Letter Media did some youtube videos on all the Picard seasons, you’re much better off just watching them talk about it than actually watching Picard itself. Season 3 is supposedly better, but still not great.
He’s like a recurring red shirt that somehow never quite gets killed off, he’s just doomed to endless suffering and dislocated shoulders.
Generational outrage music in general kind of seems out of vogue now, likely by design. Can’t let these college kids get all worked up about real world problems, better if they get distracted and sedated by whatever the hell it is we’re calling music now.
I went out with my kids and we went to a few houses actually that had lights on outside and inside, told my kids to go to the door and knock, waited a minute or so, and nothing. This was maybe half-a-dozen houses, so it’s not always a given that just knocking on the door will get results. The new “normal” is that people are either waiting outside to hand out candy or they’re leaving bowls out for kids to help themselves. Knocking on the door for trick or treating is a crapshoot and it’d be understandable why most kids will skip that. Compared to other houses, it’s more effort for potentially no reward, or, even if there is a reward, it’s the same as every other house.
The end times are approaching, time to start making peace with whichever gods you hold dear.
If I ever get a robot with titties, I’m just going to be playing with those all day long, don’t even care about how good the AI is.
We’ll have a big environmental 9/11 moment where a major American city becomes permanently uninhabitable and then there will alot of handwringing about “What could we have done!?” Then we’ll start getting lukewarm serious about it for maybe a few years, but by that point it’s way too late.
I really want to like AI, I’d love to have an intelligent AI assistant or something, but I just struggle to find any uses for it outside of some really niche cases or for basic brainstorming tasks. Otherwise, it just feels like alot of work for very little benefit or results that I can’t even trust or use.
Not only that, but co-workers from my own generation also don’t know how to fix their own computers, so I’m just surrounded by people that have no idea how any of it works.
Minimum wage shouldn’t ever be a specific amount, it should be a percentage tied to some other economic metric, so that as inflation or cost of living rises, wages increase with it as well. This BS of having to wait for out-of-touch millionaire Congress members to approve of minimum wage increases is ridiculous.
And that last 1/3rd person is the one actually spewing it.
Decades ago I used to smoke “regularly”, but even at my height I never smoked that heavily
I just don’t dream… anything. I remember having dreams as a kid, and I remember what it felt like waking up, knowing I’d had a dream, but forgetting it. But anymore, I just don’t have any dreams anymore.
An absolute scandal which has rocked the Conkers World Championship to its core. It will be a long time before it can ever recover from this.
I’ve actually been “maintaining” my Dad’s GOG account since he died some years ago. Anytime there’s a giveaway I log into both our accounts and download, one for me, one for him. No point to it really, just out of remembrance, though I’ll probably hand it off to one of my kids at some point.
I hope they all make a Disco Elysium “sequel”, that was such an awesome game, it should spawn its own genre of gaming.
Ahh, a game dedicated to being a stealth archer, fuck yeah, I’m in.
X will likely merge with TruthSocial as the defacto Conservative/Right-wing social media site (named something dumb like “XTruthXSocialX”), while BlueSky will become the defacto Liberal social media site.
